Since this winter I've developed eczema on my left arm. At first I had about 4 raised bumps that were very dry and flaky and itchy, I could never find something that helped to take them away. Now it has turned into white patches on my arm that is very itchy. I tried a prescription eczema steroid cream and it's helped to stop the itching for a bit but my skin looks absolutely horrible with the white patches and it's making me very self conscious. What can I do?

Why don't you try Aveeno products they are oatmeal based and really good for the skin I use them on my daughter because she has extremely dry skin and they work awesome on her they work so well I started using them myself.

I've been using the Eczema Care Moisturizing cream for a little while now, it's not bad but I just find that it takes the itch away for maybe only half an hour.

Haha yeah I really should go see a doctor. I just know that the only thing they do for it is prescribe heavy duty steroid creams which are bad for your skin and I really have no interest in using that all the time. I feel like there has to be a more natural alternative.

Go to the doctors & they'll prescribe you to a cream to use. I have the same problem but in the summer time!

If you're looking for natural the first thing to try are elimination diets: start with dairy, then gluten. You will have to give the diet 6 weeks to really work and see if it makes a difference for you.

I'll keep trying the Aveeno products, they have worked well for me in the past (:
Thanks for the suggestion but I'm not interested in changing my diet, I really don't think it's healthy to eliminate those things from your diet.

Something natural: Coconut oil is supposed to be good for eczema and is great for multiple things. Cooking, skin, hair, etc :) So not only could you use it for your eczema but you can even use it to enchance your hair and stuff haha

Courtney, I love coconut oil!! I've been using it for about a year now on my legs after shaving and it works amazing. The only thing I hate about it is that it can be very greasy especially if I'm putting it on my arms, but I figure I'll try it out and see if it helps (:

Eucerin! The original one, I have terrible dry skin and that is the only lotion that helps it

I've been using that one for a few months now and it doesn't help my eczema at all. However I do use it for after shaving my legs and it works great!

My daughter is 2 and had severe eczema. I tried everything her dr recommended aveeno products but that honestly seemed to make it worse, finally we took her to the Dermatoligist and he recommended dove un scented for sensitive skin and use Vaseline only on the affected areas and her skin is so soft her redness and dry patches are completely gone.

Thank you so much for sharing Clarissa! I will try that out. Sorry that happened to your daughter but I'm glad you found a way to clear it up for her!
