Line your lips with a color similar to what you're using, it's okay for it not to be perfect on your first try but with practice you'll get better, after having your lips lined with a lip liner, apply your lipstick :) you could use many different techniques like tapping it on, or gliding it on gently :) for you skin I would try a red, a dark pink?:)

Definitely lip liner. You can line them with a color that is close to the lipstick itself & fill it in with the liner as well. For a more toned down look, line your lips with a brown liner close to your lip color. Any color lipstick will look right on you, you just have to tweak it. You can always start off with a nude, pinkish nude to ease yourself into wearing lipstick.

I am a lip liner girl- most of the time. I have a few neutral lippies that I can apply straight from the tube- no liner. For things like the perfect nude lip or the perfect fuchsia or flawless red, lip liner is a must to lock in the color and seamlessly blend liner and lipstick. For precision looks, I prefer using a brush.
As for color, trial and error baby. I would try colors at a department store/ Sephora/ Ulta place since you can actually see the color on your lips. Then you will get an idea of the colors you like and that look good with your coloring. That makes it easier to build your lipstick wardrobe with drug store purchases to supplement your more expensive lipsticks. Happy shopping!

Exfoliate your lips prior to applying your lipstick. It gets rid of all the dead skin making application smoother. :)

Line your lips first then apply lipstick then blot on tissue and reapply. Try a nice pinky nude or even a red.
