Does anyone own extensions? Have you colored them? (specifically crazy colors)
I own Euronext Remy Hair Extenstions and they are real hair. I'm going to by dying mine with Splat Lucious Raspberries tonight. Anyones thoughts, opinions, tips, tricks, ideas? Share what you may have done? :)

I loveeeee Euronext extensions! I also love crazy colors! I have NO idea what Splat is, so I really cannot tell you what to expect or advise you to use it. I have used Manic Panic, Special Effects, Beyond the Zone, Punky Colors, and Pravana Chromasilk Vivids.. well those are the ones I can think of, off the top of my head.

-Special Effects and Manic Panic work as they do on my own human hair, so that was great.
-Beyond the Zone is junk. Besides the fact that the colors are not very bright, it washes out right away and is essentially a huge waste of money.
-Punky Colors, I mixed with left over Beyond the Zone and it made pretty colors, but washed out quite quickly(I didn't expect it to last long, especially because I diluted with with conditioner for a pastel color)
-****Pravana Chromasilk Vivids- Made a beautiful color... but it DID NOT MATCH my hair at all! My hair was a beautiful silver and $300 worth of extensions were a beautiful ice blue! This is what you need to watch out for... dyes that have a different reaction with the extensions than your hair, I wasted so much money because (the one time I went to a salon for help) they didn't do a strand test and ruined my extensions.

So I have used Special Effects, Manic Panic, Beyond the Zone, and Punky Colors and they work great on Euronext hair. I would personally recommend Special Effects for the color itself. I love Pravana products and dye, but Pravana did not have an expected reaction to the dye, so I cannot recommend using it for this brand of extensions. I NEVER did strand tests, but after the Pravana accident, I always do them. I suggest doing a strand test to get a taste of what to expect just in case your dye also turns a different color on your extensions.

What are you doing to the extensions exactly?
Are you dying them all one color to match your hair, or are you doing an ombré or dip dye or some other technique?
I used to lay mine flat on paper bags on top of my bar and just use a tinting brush to cover all of them when coloring them one color. Now I just keep them in a bunch and saturate the whole bunch with dye(making sure everything is fully covered).
When doing a dip dye or ombré effect with my extensions I do two different techniques depending on how high you want your dip dye/ombré to reach. If you just want it on the tips where none of your natural hair is, I would still lie the extensions down on a surface and brush the ends of the extensions with a tinting brush. If the ombré is going higher up into your hair, I put my extensions in (the same order and places I put the extensions in my hair every day) and I dye the hair as I would if it were my own. (Pulling strands of your real hair + extensions and saturating with dye) Then I remove the extensions and rinse both those and my hair when it is time to rinse. Those are just a couple tricks for dying your Euronext extensions, if you have any other questions about dying them or different techniques you want to do, let me know and I'll help you out! Good luck!

I have a (natural) dark cherry brown color in my hair and I'm just dying my extensions with the splat as a fun "highlight" so I can clip them in or out for my choosing. It comes with the bleach kit and the color. It's 100% concentrated color so I shouldnt have a problem with it. I hear this works very well. Since I dont wear my extensions everyday because my natural hair is longer than my extensions now, I'm just doing this for fun. I have a test strip ready too. If it doesnt work out I can always dye them back the color of my natural hair.

That's great! I use mine every single day, so I think that's why I'm so nuts over everything being perfect! hahah

You are in a great place to be doing this, especially if you like the strand test outcome. Are you bleaching the extensions? If so, I would lie them out, (like I mentioned setting up for dying the tips of the extensions) and monitor the way they lift closely. Otherwise, it sounds like you're pretty much good to go! hope it turns out well =)

I've used the Splat hair color and it is highly concentrated!! I had the purple color. It bled on everything I laid my head on. It was hard to color over too

Splat is terrible in my opinion. Manic panic is much better, but if you're planning on keeping the colour in then go ahead and use splat. It does stain everything really bad though. Rise it out with vinegar and it will help though.
