For you under arms could it be the deodorant you are using?

It doesn't have to be about hygiene, it can always be you expose your neck to the sun. I always have my hair down so my neck isn't black. And as for Lemons , lemons can burn. I'd suggest using a tiny bit to test and see will it burn or not since each body is different.

Have you seen a doctor? Darkened skin about the neck, underarms, beneath the breasts or in the groin area may indicate Acanthosis Nigricans. Telltale signs are a darkening and thickening of the skin (often in skinfolds) due to one's body being unable to break down insulin. It also occurs in some people due to weight increase, a thyroid issue or disease of the ovaries.
You can Google the illness to see if your darkening is similar in nature.
The good news is that it is treatable and skin can return to a brighter, smoother state by addressing both the cause with treatment and by using a topical wash and medicated lotion. If you suspect this may be the case, I'd get to the doctor for an exam and blood panel as soon as possible. Take care.

I would see a doctor if treatments do not work. As Rozberry mentioned above, it could be telltale signs of a medical condition. I have dark armpits, neck lines, inner elbows, elbows and knees and I know for a fact it is caused by my body not breaking down insulin correctly. I am pre-diabetic because of it. I would see a doctor just in case.
