Well I don't know what you mean by your skin getting all weird? your skin stays the same when your flying but if your worried about it getting dry just moisturize it before you leave,

I weird something compfy. a casual skirt or dress. sweat pants if you want to but its been getting so hot lately! I'm staying about an hour or two from new york.

I suggest not going all out on your makeup. Unless you absolutely have to, don't wear foundation and just have moisturizer on and maybe a bb cream. you don't need to play up your eyes especially if you plan to sleep on the plane. Once you get into the airport past security, go ahead and buy your own water to stay hydrated. This will help save your skin. You also need to wear something comfortable and bring a light sweater since it gets chilly in the plane sometimes. I'd personally go with my hair down & unstyled, Harlem pants, a tank, and a cardigan/wrap

You could even go with a maximum dress and a sweater which would be comfy too.

Soft skinny jeans with some stretch or leggings and a slim cotton tee. You'll appreciate stretchey soft, close-fitting clothes when in an airplane. So when you move around freely without feeling constricted by bulky clothing or clothing with a lot of material. Also bring a hoodie if you can, a little more comfortable than a sweater. And a scarf wouldn't be a bad idea either. Sometime it can get cold in the cabin esp. when someone close to you has the air on. Slip on shoes makes it easier in the airport & the cabin. Lip balm, blotting papers, face mist, deodorant, gum (in case youre ears pop). Earplugs (crying baby anyone?), Perfume, but not to spritz on in the plane. If someone stinks on the plane (the worst) you can dab a little perfume under your nose so all you smell is YOUR fragance. That way you're not offending anyone with your perfume. Bring some music, a magazine or book, wet naps & a snack like cheese & crackers.

Do your hair in a loose bun so it's out of your face but doesn't hurt on the plane, or leave it down with a few curls on the ends, for an outfit wear leggings and a loose fitting t-shirt ✨🌸

Try not to wear too-tight clothes on the lower part of your body. Skinny jeans can cause circulatory issues during long flights (despite the pressurized cabin). Same with high heels, though I doubt anyone would want to wear heels on a plane.

When I fly, I wear loose, stretchy jeans, a tee shirt, a sweater, socks and slip-on tennis shoes. I don't like wearing flip flops because I don't want to walk barefoot through security while they xray my shoes (yes, they scan sandals as well).

Try to avoid things that will be complicated and time consuming during security: lace up or strap on shoes, belts, jewelry, body jewelry (if you have any, replace it with plastic retainer jewelry before you get to the airport)...

As for makeup, I usually just wear eyeliner and mascara with lip balm. I wear lotion too, since my skin is extremely dry. I wear my hair in a ponytail.

In your carry on, make sure your products conform to TSA standards or they will be confiscated and thrown away. Last time I was on a flight (Nov. 2013) they took my mom's "travel size" hairspray. Even though it was under the size limit, they said no aerosols or sprays. If you bring perfume, make it a travel rollerball. They also don't allow gels, so if your deodorant is a gel, leave it in your checked bag. Skip the hand sanitizer, they confiscated mine.

All of your makeup (except powders; things like lip gloss, mascara, foundation), and liquids (toothpaste, travel shampoo) have to be under the size limit and fit into a closed quart-sized plastic bag. Only bring the absolute essentials in your carry on and stash the rest in your checked bag. Never bring anything (makeup, clothing, or otherwise) that you would be devastated to lose/cannot easily replace. Lost luggage sucks, and things do get broken no matter how carefully you pack. Don't bother locking your suitcase, as nine times out of ten they will break the lock and search your bag. (My mom insists on locking it every time we travel, and every single time her suitcase gets searched.) I always tie a brightly colored ribbon to my suitcase handle so it is easy to identify on the baggage carousel. Having a luggage tag with your contact information INSIDE the suitcase is helpful if the bag gets lost (though it isn't a guarantee that the airline will do anything in that event).

Air travel is fun and exciting! Have fun on your trip!
