Sometimes I wear blush but I wouldn't say I actually know how to apply it. Is it on the apple of your cheeks or just above your checks? I usually just add a tiny bit above my highlight to add a glow.

I apply blush towards the ends of the apples of my cheek and a little lower!

I'd avoid smiling while putting on blush. Blush is meant to make you look youthful and makeup usually gives a more lifted look. When you smile and put blush on then relax your face, the blush sort is drops and looks lower so it's best to have your face relaxed and apply

I start my blush two finger widths away from end of each nostril (do a number two with your fingers with no space in between them) , this would be about the apple of your cheek. Put it generously here then
Then go from there angle to the top of your ear. Going in this direction tends to make my very round face look slimmer! Use the blush as sort of a highlight! Good luck 💖
