I'm only sixteen, but I think how ever much you could afford to spend you should.:)

I'm a drugstore junky due to my lack of makeup budget but I find myself going more and more for high end products. However on my hair I only use high end.

Make up i would cap off at $60 for a single product. Skincare on the other hand... no limit. Lols

I'll pay whatever to get good quality products, but I'm definately a bargain buyer and always looking for copies in other brands! But like Sheena said if its for my hair I don't argue! if I find something I want it need for my hair I'll get it! ahaha

I pretty much exclusivity buy high end. I spend around 600 a year. And just under that for hair.

I agree about the hair, any price for healthy hair:)

I buy high quality stuff. I also buy all my hair stuff at Cosmo prof for cost.

That being said, I also have a mortgage and taxes and bills to pay. As well as children to feed. I'm 21 and a stay at home mom. If I still lived at home and had no real responsibility I would spend all my money on makeup and clothes.

I'll spend any amount on a product if I really want it. I usually avoid drugstore/lower priced products. I think the only exceptions I've made when it comes to this is the Maybelline Gel Liner and the L'Oreal Infallible concealer.

For make up I probably prefer going for less expensive, but good quality drugstore products. But yeah, for my hair really almost anything to keep it healthy and good lookin'

As long as I'm happy I'll continue to splurge on high quality products why not splurge for something great quality that will last long over poor quality products

Since having to pay out of pocket for fertility treatments by budget has been significantly cut but that's a sacrifice I do not regret

when I'm working sky's the limit. I'm not working so it depends. Foundation there's no price. Mascara's and lip products I tend to hit the drugstore. Eyeshadow it has to be high end, or online (ex makeup geek).

I make sure all my priorities are taken care of (including my retirement fund and savings) and whatever is leftover is mine to blow on whatever I please. I know that my skincare expense exceeds my makeup expense but I believe in having a clear canvas before I slap on the makeup.

I do not think makeup should be very expensive. I like cheap drugstore brands... for some reason I am usually attracted to Maybelline. I don't have that much makeup but it seems like most of it is Maybelline :)

agreed! it depends on the product :) for foundations or primers i would spend more. for eyeshadows and lipsticks/stains i would spend less

Emma B. I'm 13 too so I totally agree

I splurge a bit on foundation at about $40. The rest I try to keep under $15 an item unless it's something really special like a palette.

Depends, I say around $3600 yearly that also goes in with skin care, make up wipes brushes etc...a little embarrassed to admit that though):
