I have had my nose pierced for about 2 1/2 years & had this ring in for about a month or so but this is nothing new, it's happened even with other jewelry. There is redness above the piercing spot. I know for a fact it's not infected b/c I know exactly how to tell when an infection starts because I used to have a problem with the jewelry I was using and that caused me to have a few infections on my nose. But anyways, it's not a zit or pimple. it's been like that for a while. I don't think it's an allergic reaction to the metal either, it's a real gold nose ring. It's not a huge deal, it's not noticeable at all when I wear makeup & it's really not even that noticeable at all anyways, even without makeup, unless I turn the flash on my camera. Just curious if anyone knew what the redness was from? or what it is? Thanks in advance!!

It might be an under the skin pimple. I get those all the time and it takes time for them to get a head.

It's probably just irritation from changing the ring. I don't know it's never happened to me, as long as it's not painful it's fine.

Aly, I've changed it several times over the past two years and it's just there lol it was there before I changed it out the last time, which was a month or so ago.

Ramsha, yes I've had those but it's not raised or anything. Doesn't feel like a pimple. just redness. it's not irritated or painful, just red skin 😐

Do you wiggle your piercing around a lot? I do that too and get some redness.

Jacqlyn, I didn't even think about that, I'm thinking that's what it is now (:

The nose ring may contain nickel which you may be allergic to. Sterling silver is generally better as it's nickel-free.

Mine does the same thing and I've had it pierced for a year. With mine it's just because I was messing with it and changing it. Not a big deal it'll go away with time.
