So I'm 13 so I have an acceptable amout of makeup. I have a 10 year old cousin that's basically at my house more than she's at her own. I think of her as my little sister. In the morning or when I'm getting ready and putting on my makeup she always asks if she can use some. I tell her no, and that she's too young. But she's asked me so many times, that I'm thinking of giving in. I'm obviously going to do her makeup for her, but what I need to know is how much should I let her wear? I think powder and a light layer of mascara is enough. What do you guys think?

I would only let a 10 year old wear lip gloss.

Personally I don't feel makeup should have a real age limit. But since she will be wearing it out. in public, I would say give her some mascara, blush, and a lippie. Nothing over the top. Remember makeup isnt only about being creative and expressing yourself, it is also about accenting your features that make you beautiful. Find those on her and play to them.
btw. I starting wearing makeup when. I was 9 or 10.:)))

I think she is too young to wear anything other than lip gloss. You might not want to share makeup with her though unless you thoroughly cleanse it before and after she uses it so as not to spread germs.

I do wonder why we as society place so many age limitations on ourselves... Sure I understand the age things when referring to alcohol and tobacco use, but makeup? I mean what are your alls points of view on it. I ultimately believe that once a person takes a legit interest in makeup or beauty products they should be allowed to, whether they be 10, 16, or I don't know 82?!?! Haha, please share your opinions, because I'm curious.

I say let her wear some, and ask her what she would like to do.. for all you know she may just only want some mascara and gloss. Little kids have such nice skin, so I wouldn't really do anything to her face but I'd play with her eyes.

I agree with Kitty, I wouldn't put ANYTHING on her face as it's youthful and delicate. I'd maybe add some mascara and lipgloss. :)

Absolutely, she needs to cherish her skin.
