I'm on the flagline for my high school, and red lipstick is a requirement for when we perform. What is your favorite red lipstick? (Brand, color name, etc) and also, do you have any tips for making it stay bright and fresh-looking for a long period of time? Thank you in advance (:

If you're willing to buy online, Ben Nye lipsticks are the best. They stay on so well. Ben Nye is theater makeup, so it is made to last under hot lights without reapplying. They are about $10.

If you want your lipstick to last as long as possible, you can follow these eight steps.
1. Apply lip balm to hydrate your lips (especially if you have dry lips)
2. Use concealer to cover your lip form (if you want to make your lips look bigger/smaller)
3. Use a lip pencil to draw your desired lip form
4. Use the lip pencil to color your lips
5. Apply lipstick with a lip brush
6. Little corrections can be done with a cotton bud (but don't rub)
7. Separate a cleansing tissue in thin layers and lay one over your lips, then gently apply powder (the tissue makes sure that you don't apply to much powder)
8. Apply a thin layer of lipstick (product excess can gently be dabbed with a cleansing tissue)

Mac ruby woo & I use their lip prep & prime but be careful to not twist it up a lot just a little cuz my first one broke on me but they replaced it & I love it. I agree with exfoliating & moisturizing prior, using a lip primer & liner.

I thing that for long lasting you should go with matte lips. I would recommend Red Revolution by Maybelline, the color is very strong and lasts the whole day for me :)

To keep lipstick looking fresh and basically invincible apply a thin layer of concealer to the lips then powder with a loose powder. Apply lipliner to the whole lip then very lightly powder again. Apply lipstick with a brush, **lightly** powder again then apply final layer of lipstick. It sounds really heavy but is great for stage productions or dance where you may not have time to touch up.

Ruby Woo by MAC and Red Label by Milani are my favorite red lipsticks because they apply evenly and smoothly and have amazing staying power. To make sure your lipstick stays on all day, use a matching red lip liner and carefully line your lips, then fill in your entire lip with the liner. Use a lip brush to apply your lipstick for extra precision, and clean up around the lip area with a cotton swab. Separate the layers of a tissue and lay a thin layer on your lips and gently dust a light coat of translucent powder over it. Remove the tissue and then reapply your lip color over the powder for maximum staying power and a beautiful finish.
