I have a deep affection for the overly dramatic
My hair, make up, clothing, ect

I'm very often given strange looks which don't bother me but the questions are a problem

Ppl will ask things like: why is your hair blue? How do you expect to find a job? How will you ever find someone to Marry you? I am married btw

How do you deal with this? My first reaction is to tell these conservatives to kindly f*ck off...
But I'm looking to end the interaction on a more positive note but still get my point across that these questions are offensive

Just looking for ideas and opinions

I just say because I'm me, and I want to. Thanks for your opinion though.
Hahaha I get people saying why do you color your hair? Why do you have your nose pierced? Why do you wear Makeup? ..ALL THE TIME!
It's so annoying, but we dare to be different! Just ignore the losers that don't appreciate people being themselves!

The only time i've ever had someone ask why I wore makeup was when I did blood dripping eyea(Inspired from Leesha) but did it all the way down my face and neck, a few days before Halloween and wore it school. And I said "Because I wanted to" and i'd probably say that again if others ever ask.

Hair•
My hair always looks cray in the morning and I would never leave the house like that!
1. Brush my hair with any hair oil or hair liquid
2. I use "Pink" hair oil to pump up my hair
3. Style it by curling it or doing a fancy style or crimping it

Face•
I always make sure my face is complete before I leave

1. I wet my face
2. I use "Cetaphil Facial Cream" it help get rid of gauges under my eyes for me

I'm Just getting too old to resort to scream "stop your f*cking oppression at ppl who question my life choices" lol I wish they knew how rude it is to question people like this

I'd rather be a fruit loop in the world of cheerios. Idk that was a really corny answer lol but still. People are quick to judge someone on looks rather than getting to know them first. I don't let people's opinion get to me because my opinion is what matters the most.

I always say it's better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not.

I actually had someone tell me I would never find love with green hair... I almost spit on him but decided to loudly scream "no I don't want to buy any weed" and walk into the courthouse

I see two people who haven't bothered to read this post and I can't help but LOL.

I hate it when people ask such questions.
I just say something along the lines of, "Because I can." and then walk off or end the conversation if it's on the Internet.

If some one says something like "why would you wear something like that?" I ALWAYS respond with, "The same reason why you wear what you do. Because I like it"
I don't need to explain myself to people. I've gotten to a stage in my life where I truly do not care if someone doesn't like something I wear or do. All I care about is whether I'm happy or not - and I am! That's all that matters to me.

It's polite & gets the point across, shuts them up while I still feel fabulous with my heavy smokey eye at 2:00pm :D

Just ask them equally uncomfortable questions.

I never got questions but I sure would get stares. Still do.

I totally get what you're saying! I hate all those people that ask "what will you do when you're old and have all those piercings and tattoos?" Look friggin awesome. Duh. My skin is going to be ugly and wrinkly whether I've got tattoos an piercings or not!

Every time I always say 'Because I feel like it' Depending on the way they approach me I will say it with a slight tinge of attitude, this way they understand it was offensive. Some people know me and know that at that moment know they've struck a nerve. Some people have balls but no common sense and have the audacity to continue and say 'wow, alright. whatever, no need to get snooty' (something along those lines) And I say 'I am sorry. Didn't mean to snap, it just get's irritating when every 5 minutes of my goddamn life someone is asking me why I do certain things. Do I need to have a reason? And if I do, why do you need to know?' Then people usually peg me as a bitch, which isn't entirely wrong. But my group of friends now is very diverse. And NONE of them EVER ask why I do what I do. And that is why I appreciate them so much, and why they are my best friends.
There are some people who approach me politely and ask 'Just curious, but why do you wear so much makeup? I know it's your choice, but what draws you to it?' And then I tell them my story. My passion, my talents, my journey, my life.

Omg Megan. I agree! Whenever some one sees my tattoo or my stretched ears, I the whole "what about when you're old?!"
I'm just sitting there wondering if these people think they're going to look SOOO much better than me when they're 70. We're all gonna be wrinkly & saggy. ALL OF US. Modified girls are just gonna look 10000x more interesting. :P

Honestly, if you want to ask them if they realize how rude they're being, ask them! "Why is your hair green? You'll never find love looking like that." "Do you realize how rude it is to come up to someone and ask them that? How would you like it if I came up to you and asked why you looked the way you do and implied that people would dislike you for it?" Start a dialogue. It's the only way those people will learn.

The what about when you're old one cracks me up... Like the need to express ourselves by modifying and decorating our bodies is something that goes away with age

One time i got "society doesn't like people like you." I just about slapped him. But then i realized I don't want to be like society, I want to be MYSELF! People have to get over judging some day. I'll just keep saying what I always say.. DILLIGAF??

I know what you are referring to, Tiffany, UGH! I hate being asked questions like that. I hate being asked dumb questions to begin with, only really obvious ones like "why do you wear your hair like that, why is your make up that way" etc etc

I recently got my septum pierced, and I do get a lot of crap because of it from my mum and other people asking me stuff like "how can you like that?". The obvious thing I always say is "Because I like it, I think it looks good, next question?" You can be as annoying as them if you want, just reply to a question with another question.

My mum means well, I guess, she's just very old fashioned and traditional, she said that I "look like a cow" with my septum piercing. I, being as sweet as I am, informed her that only oxen get their septums pierced with "captive rings" as they call them, and I also thanked her because - cows are absolutely beautiful animals. They give SO MUCH. Milk, meat, leather and hundreds of other products. I sometimes don't see why women are insulted by being called a cow, but that's just me.

Lol yes that would be a perfect question! When I was 13 an old lady asked why I was fat, so I asked her why she has a moustache. That shut her up.
