Okay so I've watched millions of tutorials and tried it thousands of times. I've had my hair without any layers whatsoever and I've cut my hair in layers. I've thinned my hair and it has thickened back and I still can not make a messy bun a success! It always ends up having two huge clumps in the back that aren't cute at all. I feel like I'm the only girl that can't do it. Does anyone else have this problem? If you know how I can fix it please let me know!

Honestly I think a messy bun is just supposed to be...messy. otherwise it wouldn't be called a messy bun. it doesn't have to be perfect :)

1st) I put my hair in a high pony; wherever I want my hair to start from
2nd) I twist the pony itself in a direction, and wrap it around the base of the pony tail, bobby pinning as I go around. This will secure your bun, so it won't fall out~ you can pull at different parts and pieces until your satisfied with the outcome
I hope this made sense! 😅

I always just put my hair into a high pony tail, grab all my hair and scrunch it into a ball, put an elastic over it, and bobby pin it into place.

I feel ya! When I had long hair buns jut would not work for me if they were messy! They just didn't look good! I would suggest doing a sick bun and then just messing it up a bit and see if that works.

I used to have the same problem so now what I do to make a nice messy bun I start to put my hair up like its going to be in a pony tail but I only pull the ponytail through half way then the left over hair I tuck it all around and then pull to tighten and tadamm bun

I always bend over and run my fingers through my hair kind of smoothing out the underneath and then grab it and put it into a pony tail then stand up and scrunch it up. Bobby pin it into place. It looks messy but will help even out the clumps in the back. :)
