I don't know about skincare but I would ask Kitty K. And Traci L. (She's an esthetician and works at a medical spa)

Before I ever even went to school for esthetics ,I just read a lot ,skincare books ,Google ingredients, learn what skincare products your skin likes and doesn't like what ingredients to look for to achieve certain outcomes, just research hun knowledge is the best thing you can have.

Personally, I've learned a lot from the facialists and estheticians I've gone to. I like to ask them what they recommend to fix XYZ problem I happen to have.

I looked up a bunch if stuff on the internet. And read books like Bobbi Brown and Lauren Conrads beauty manuels. But I honestly learned so much from the Caroline Hirons blog. Check it out!

I researched a lot of things myself but it was mostly trial and error for me - I have to admit I've never been to a dermatologist (but never really thought my skin was that bad where I needed to) and also traci here on BL is very knowledgable too.

I been looking on apps , and facebook , google? When I see my friends n family , and sometimes even strangers. I like to ask there skin type and what they're skin doesn't like. Even tho I say facebook , I follow people who works with these type of stuff and it gives me ideas and want to learn even MORE , also I have a journal I write to keep the information in one place in case I forget. There's still a BILLION other things to learn , but I'm getting there?.

I took chemistry and food science courses in college, which covered a lot of chemical compounds and properties of ingredients in consumer products. I also do extensive research in peer-reviewed medical journals and academic databases.
For a more easily digestible resource, The Beauty Brains blog is run by cosmetic chemists who give detailed, factual information and credit reliable sources.

I just ask Traci :-) as I'm sure most of us do. because with out Traci I wouldn't know the value of peptides, retinol, or vitamin C serums. and the Ulta by me has a pretty great skin care girl on staff.

I learned a lot from reading magazines and personal experience.

Its been a passion my whole life... eventually went to school for aesthetics, got certified in medical aestgetics, oncology aestgetics, dermaplaning, cosmetic chemistry, ect. I educate constantly... and when I'm not educating, I share what I learn at my aesthetic practice and through forums like this.
I started make 20 plus years ago in the club scene. Mostly drag... my first love was sfx. I have my hands in everything now. My art, aesthetic, and makeup education all aid in my creation.
Mostly, I'm an educator... a people pleaser, and a cheer leader for all. Lol
