Every time I look on Beautylish, I see people putting themselves down and saying they rely on make-up because it covers scars, spots, etc. However many people also use it to hide personality, and truthfully, I do that a lot.
But this isn't about me. It's about us all, and boosting eachother's confidence through our own actions and support.
I am encouraging people to go at least one day without make-up, just one day, and post a picture of yourself halfway through the day WITHOUT filters or editing. I say halfway through, because many people feel most down at this point without make-up. This way we can see that we are all the same, and none of us are perfect.
"Real girls aren't perfect, and perfect girls aren't real."
If you feel really uncomfortable with posting pictures of your face, you could tell us how it made you feel, and post supportive messages to those who are doing this with us.
Going back to my previous mention of scars, I think they are powerful and beautiful. They show that you have been through something and come out the other side ok. Not hiding them shows support to others who may feel self concious of their scars. I see them as a sign that says "I've been through it, and look, I'm ok, so you will be too.". I'm not saying to go and get scars, I'm saying to be proud of any you may have instead of self concious.
And as for spots, we all get them. Not hiding them shows others with spots that they are not alone, and that there's no need to feel embarrassed, because they're just a normal part of life.
If you want to talk about how make-up, scars, spots, etc, make you feel, tell us! If you have a story to share, tell us! We want to know, because no matter how strange your imperfections may be, there will always be somebody out there who is the same.
So please, join the Confidence Campaign, and I'll post more to boost it.
Together we can help millions of people become confident in their natural skins.

Aww this is so supportive and sweet! 😍 I love how this site isn't just about makeup, and also about inner beauty. We make each other feel special and that's so beautiful for a woman to do that! I just woke up and I'm lazing around and going to get properly dressed in a few hours! I'll wear no makeup... Tbh it's been ages since I wore no makeup confidently, I atleast wear clear mascara... Then I say to myself "ok, may as well define the lash line" out comes my pencil liner, I add an inncer corner and then the lipgloss, then I'll want the rosy cheeks 😤 I kick myself afterwards Bc I know what I'm doing 😖 keep this thread going and I'll be out soon so I'll post a picture when I'm out! I'm so happy you started this thread... It shows us woman how to be strong 💪❤️

This is such a good idea and positive message! Unfortunately today I've already done my makeup but I will try and wear no makeup soon, I personally love scars too I think they're so unique and never the same as any one else's. I also think that everyone gets spots so who cares if one day you have a spot showing, I'm not trying to be stereotypical or sexist but teenage boys are never expected to cover up they're spots so why are women expected to?

Thank You Bea, if anyone asks why I've just randomly stopped wearing makeup for a day, I'll tell me all it's you who inspired me! I can't wear no makeup to school, ever though! There's too many people, 😤 I hope I will someday 😳🙌 just checked out Zoella's YT video on Social Anxiety! I don't have it, but if any of you do, be sure to check it out, it's so supportive! I support you all the way :)

Great post Bea!! Thank you for taking the time to remind us all what is most valuable. I'm pratically a senior citizen here at BL (40 years old) but sometimes I find myself getting insecure about a scar I have from a major medical situation. My husband suggested getting a tat around it to signify that I'm still the winner and that the scar is beautiful because it marks a battle I conquered. Maybe one day I'll get the courage to do that but right now I"m just trying to accept it. Thanks again for this post because its pushing me that much closer to loving my scar versus hating it. I actually took a screen shot of your post so I could refer to it whenever I get down about it. Thanks again.

No problem Shelley, I'm glad I've helped at least one person!
Zahra, well done for doing it! You should be proud of yourself, I'm proud of you!
Bethany, I understand. I suffer from panic attacks that terrify me from going to certain places at certain times (such as the bathroom after 8 pm), so I'm here for you whatever you need, whenever you need it.

Hello Bea, you have this thread up twice and I'm going to have to remove one, just giving you a heads up.Please understand that one post is enough and will be viewed in no time. This subject is wonderful just like the many others asking& making a thread just like yours from other users. We here as a community encourage all to dig deep into ones self for what ever reason because every story is different and every reason isn't the same.If members choose to follow your confidence request I would like to suggest all keep it on one thread so that it prevents other threads from being pushed down by the same subject and I would like all to please add your daily skin care routine so that it brings interest and starts a dialogue versus looking like selfies of no value. Its best if no makeup pic's with skincare routine commentary does best in the skincare section as this will help all.thank you.

Thank you very much for deleting the other thread Alma! I made that one because I wasn't sure which category it would actually go in :/ And as for skincare regimes, here's mine's...
-morning-wipe face using Adorana Facial Wipes, mosturise using Aveeno Moisturising Creamy Oil, then apply my prescription acne treatment
-night-exactly the same as the morning except I also apply my prescription steroid cream to the eczema under my eyes and around my mouth (which is almost gone by the way!! Yay!!)
If your wondering why I wipe my face instead of using a face cloth, it's because using a fae cloth irritated my eczema too much.
What's your skincare regime?
Especially you Shelley, share your secret! How do you stay looking so young?!
Jun 23, 2014
Shelley W.
Aww thank you Bea. Without going into a book length response citing my skincare and all the products I rotate on my skin I can simply sum my young appearance to healthy diet (I avoid red meat, dairy and restrict sugar intake and I consume large amounts of veggies), exercise and following a skincare program consistantly. Plus, genetics play a role as my mom is in her mid 60's but people swear up and down that she is 45.
