So I can't use heat and I don't want to braid my hair cuz it's a little short for that. are there any ways I can get simple curly beachy waves?

You can use big foam rollers in dry hair overnight to get waves or loosely tie sections of your around socks - there are plenty of YouTube videos for heatless curls that use these methods and both have worked to give me curly q hair when wrapped in small rollers tightly or loosely gives waves.
