I had gotten a strange flesh colored lump on my pubic area a few months ago so I went to my gynecologist not sure what it was. It turned out to be a ingrown hair and she said that it was no problem. Now a few months later the lump has started to grow and is getting painful. I can't "pull out" the ingrown hair because of how deeply embedded it is and I can't even see the hair. Is there any way I can get the hair to come out on its own? Or anything I can do without going back to the doc and having them surgically remove it?

Sometimes sitting in a bathtub with water as hot as you can stand or apply towels dipped in hot water and rung out can help bring the hair to the surface.

I wouldn't try to solve the problem on your own.. The best thing to do if you can't remove it is to get it surgically removed.

Try sitting in warm water. I suggest going to the doctor and getting it lanced though.

Try exfoliating with a scrub and apply cortizone.

Skin tend, exfoliate area... or an estie can get it out for you... unless it too deep. Then, you may have to have a dermatologist do it... so ingrowns can get quite painful, infkammed, and cause cysts or abcesses. Not to scare you.
If you can see the hair, it can be removed... I do this with clients all the time. Just a lancet to break skin, and grab hair, then tweeze. Done under a mag lamp... usually painless...

You can cut it short to see the ingrown hair.

Tend skin is great but it basically can be done at home with mixture of asprin alcohol and witch hazel too... the asprin will help the inflammation go doing as well as the witchhazel.. the alcohol will help with the infection part... if itz lump you might have a cyst like you have to drain it like try to pop it out and get all that puss and blood out so that way you can pull out or tweeze out the hairs.. might ve a few on that one same spot... I know this cause I've had it... if you wax or even shave you should always cleAnse it with anti bacterial soap abd apply tend skin or that solution I told you... or you could try the strippers trick by putting on like a dove deoderant right after you do that/ hope I helped.

This may not be an ingrown hair. In fact it sounds EXACTLY like what I had two years ago. And I thought it was an ingrown hair too and did all sorts of home remedies which made it more painful. When I saw the doctor he said it was a sebaceous cyst and I did a whole treatment for it to drain such enormous quantities of pus you have no idea. One it had shrunk completely it had to be surgically removed. Super small and easy procedure though. So please see a surgeon or a very good dermatologist. Please.

I'm sorry you're going through this. Go to the. Doctor. No oder way. They might even prescribe antibiotics and depending on how ripe it is, they will lance it.
