I shower first and then I blow dry it. It gives it volume then I straighten it.

I don't like to use so much heat because my hair is extremely thin. :/ I air dry it.

Sorry didn't get to finish my sentence. Straightening your hair with a blow dryer instead of a straightener will give it more volume ;) Just use heat protectant before using the blow dryer or any heated tool on your hair. Also massaging your scalp with argan oil every night before you go to sleep will actually thicken your hair ;) Trust me it really works I do this every night! And if you don't want to use oil then you can just massage your scalp without it.

What Karen & Kiyomi said. NEVER use Mane n Tail though. it's not for humans. all the wax weighs down your hair, it isn't ph balanced for your hair or scalp, & it will make your hair very dry & brittle.

Straighten it upside down. Sounds totally crazy, but it works really well for me. Just make sure you don't burn your hands:)

I saw a video on YouTube a LONG time ago about how to get volume when straightening.. she put the straightener as close to the roots as possible, pulled the straightener straight up about an inch or 2, left it there for a few seconds, then straightened the rest of the hair the normal way... I hope that makes sense, lol. if not you can always look it up yourself.

some ways I get volume into my hair without back combing is to blow dry my hair upside down, use a volumizing mousse, & I flip my hair upside down, shake my fingers through it close to the roots, then flip it back up :3

I use a layer lift serum on wet hair and then a dry shampoo once my hair dries (really helps with the volume) and when I straighten it I turn the hear setting to medium. I find that a super hot flat iron just makes my hair fall flat. When I straighten I lift everything upward to face the ceiling. When the hair falls back down its voluminous at the roots and silky straight everywhere else. I posted a pic of the products I like best :)

Shower, put it a volumising spray or powder at the root, blowdry your head upside down. Put it in a different parting, straighten it and then put it back to your normal parting, and hairspray. Or hairspray your hair while your heads upside down :) hope this helps
