I have curly hair, its very unique due to damaging and straightening (attempted) but it's still very curly. It's also very dry. In 2012, my hair was about down to my hips and I decided to bleach my naturally dark brown hair. Stupid idea... in the end of 2012, I decided to dye my hair back to brown. In January of 2013 I cut my hair about armpit length because it was so terrible damaged. It was almost not even curly anymore and before that I had natural ringlets. It grew out to my ribs but it was very thin at the bottom and thick at the top, and with my hair getting to be very thick and curly again, it didn't look so great. So last month, I cut my own hair, again a stupid idea. I cut it about two inches past my shoulders but I loved it. It was even again and healthy.
My problem is, just within this month my hair is getting to be extremely thin and the bottom and thick at the top again. I wash my hair every other to every third day, I put nothing but hair serum in my hair, and I barely ever put heat on it. I took this picture yesterday. Please help

Do you sleep with your hair out? When you sleep with it out it breaks.

Have you tried a deep conditioning treatment? Maybe you hair is dry and badly needs moisture!

Well, I don't know a whole lot about hair, but how I keep my hair healthy is I wash it every 2-3 days (like you), I use L'oreal EverPure shampoo & conditioner which is sulfate free, & I use hair masks every time I shower. another way to keep hair healthy is to get it cut regularly.. I usually go before summer & before winter.
L'oreal Power Moisture Mask & Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle are great ones.. they add so much moisture into my hair & makes it SO soft. I've dyed my hair so many times I've lost count, & this routine works for me c: I hope it'll help you too!

Use pure coconut oil it will help get you hair back to normal , try not to use hairstyle that require heat or a lot of tightness that may induce more breakage. if you sleep with a pillow you can get a silk pillow case. this will help you hair since its not constantly tugging at it. and you can also try sleeping in braids

Try the organics hair line, they are drug store and extremely affective. Also, leave the conditioner in your hair for 2 min while your in the shower so it can truly work. Then use a hair oil from your ears down, I suggest an argen or macadamia oil, and just leave that in and comb through your hair with a wide toothed comb ( brushes damage wet hair), you may also want to try a leave in conditioner , any is good but I suggest the its a ten miracle leave in hair product. ( every thing you can find at a drugstore with beauty supplies: target wallgreens stop and shop ect.)
