In my opinion, I think it'd be fine to wear a dress that doesn't match the theme. Of course you're supposed to, but I never matched...granted I only went to like two of my high school dances, and both had stupid themes lol, but still, wear whatever you feel beautiful in. c:

It doesn't matter if you match the theme or not. It's just the decorations and stuff so you'll be fine.

For my prom we didn't have to match. The theme was just for the decorations and center pieces. I guess it could be different for different schools.

I have the same theme. I'm going to wear a more form fitting gown in a neutral color. I wouldn't wear a big poofy princess grown to a Gatsby prom. I'm still fitting the theme, but not literally (I'm not going to look like a flapper. Lol.)

We had a party with the same theme! Most girls were just wearing pearls, or had there hair up in a "special" way. I think it's okey for the dress not to match but then just make your accessories/makeup/hair matching :)
