I'm 5' tall.
That "one size fits all" thing just doesn't do it for me.
Does anyone know of any good shops to go to for things that won't make me look like I played dress up with bigger sibling's clothes?

I need the same thing... I'm 4'10, so, yeah. I always settle for too big clothes.

Tailors are your best friends. invest in simple pieces that you can tailor to fit your body. Nordstrom has a great petites section (not juniors). Avoid anything that appears too big, because it will make you look sort of shapeless.

Maybe gordmans because they do have a line of jeans that's specifically for people our height lol. I always find clothes that fit me at jcpenney, forever 21, pacsun, etc. I'm only an inch taller than you :)

Banana Republic has an especial section :) and as Lili said, Forever 21, Hollister, A&F are good options because their desings are more stretch. And we'll always have to cut our jeans :)

Oh, and something I like to do is go thrifting, and my friends often give me their too-small clothes and shoes, which is awesome.

I like American Eagle Pac Sun, or Hollister for jeans because I have short legs. But basically anywhere else for shirts and stuff, I like Kohls,
Dillards, Charlotte Russe (sometimes but I can only wear xsmalls), Old Navy, Pac Sun, Forever 21

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'll definitely have to give some of those a go. Clothes shopping has always been hit or miss...I did manage to find a pair of jeans that fit perfectly (height & everything!) at Aeropostale. Their sizes come in short, regular, and tall.

Always makes me sad that I find more items that come in 4XL than in XS.??

I'm 5'1 and don't really have that problem. Are you looking for jeans or dress pants like work pants? If you're looking for some fitting dress pants go to express I always get their S size

Thanks for the tip! I've only ever seen large, billowy dress pants...somewhat reminiscent of what a genie wears. For the most part, I'm looking for jeans & dresses. Those seem to be the most finicky.
