Listen do whatever you like. I was just trying to educate you on the differences between your nationality and your parents but if you want to be incorrect then go ahead.

I know that this probably isn't needed buuuuuut, @Caitriona...who cares if Americans use a "t" instead of an "h" honestly? It's an Irish holiday that has now been commercialized by society into something it's not. I understand you have pride for your "mother Ireland" but there's no need for you to put down Americans. Hey, if you want to celebrate your country by spending all day in a pub (see, making accusations isn't nice, is it?) have fun. Us Irish-Americans ( just a fun fact- if your descendants are traced back to the pilgrims, you're just "American". If your ancestors are traced back to Ireland/Italy/Mexico then you're *insert country*-American) are going to call it what we are taught. You can't expect Jacqlyn to change what she grew up with to please you.
And I'm not even Irish but this got me upset that you'd attack an innocent girl because of her spelling of a word.

Thank you to all the ladies who contributed thoughtfully with some inspiration for the holiday. Thank you also, Caitronia for the correction on the name. I don't think there was any intentional disrespect and if you want my two cents, it could very well the the adoption by the American accent. "But-ton" versus "bud-dun", "tom-ay-to", "tom-ah-do", etc. We need not look at the nitty gritty what's labeled on a passport to appreciate our cultures. But again, thank you for the correction and let's move on to more St. Paddy's inspired makeup looks. Velen, I read above that you have a good one. Care to share? ;)

Excuse me? I never put down Americans in what I said. I said that you guys said it that way but it was incorrect and I was trying to correct it. I think I was very respectful in the way I phrased it. Yes further on in the comments I got angry because I felt like people were twisting what I was saying and the subject turned off onto a different matter. I apologise if my comments came across as rude but that is your interpretation of them, not my intention. What you said on the other hand is a racist stereotype, not an accusation.
I wasn't trying to attack anyone, I kept getting dragged into this. All I wanted to put across was that as someone who lives in Ireland that is not the correct way to say it. Take whatever you want from the comments.

For all of the ladies who posted looks, thank you so much! They're gorgeous! 😍
And it really upsets me that this turned into an argument. As far as I'm concerned, it's an abbreviation of Patrick. If it's not "correct", I apologize. But that's how we spell it in the US. The English language has many different dialects, which results in different spellings/pronunciations.

Thank you for the apology Caitriona. All is forgiven girl! 💋 I find this similar to the spellings of "color" and "colour." All depends on where you grew up, and what you were taught. :)

If you are planning on wearing this to school , you could use gold or like a glittery champagne color with a green eye liner , I love St.Paddy's day , so I think I'll do this as well :)
