Many folks don't know this but it takes a full shot glass (1 ounce) of suncreen/sunblock to cover your body. One should apply that amount everyday for protection. With an 8 ounce bottle of product and applying 1+ ounce (s) a day I go through several bottles within a months time. And the face isn't excused either. One should apply a nickles worth of sunscreen. And don't rely on your cosmetics to offer you that protection...as I love my bb cream that maintains a 35 spf I wouldn't dare apply a nickles worth on my skin. So to make up for the deficit I use either a powder mineral based spf of 30 and reapply often during the course of the day or a moisturizing spf 30 and the mineral spf. Our makeup gives us a false sense of protection as that pea size amount most of us ladies use to apply foundation/bb/cc creams just isnt enough protection.
Another thing to be aware of is not missing hard to reach areas...that was my downfall. I always managed to miss a vital spot on my back during application and that is where my cancer was located. So if you have a hard to reach spot have a loved one take care of it for you or use a spray formula to reach it instead.
Last but not least...spf is to be used year round and not just when the weather warms up and the sun is out.

Agree. Many people, especially males, overlook applying sunscreen in colder months. Slather your men up, ladies!
It's important to protect children's skin as well..year round. Great advice, Shelley. Could not agree more.
