I've been wondering..how exactly do you do it and what products can you use on light skin?

Thanks Chanel. do you apply it before or after foundation? I might sound like an air head but I know nothing about this!

After foundation otherwise you will be smudging it or covering it up.

If it's a powder then apply after foundation but some people use a cream contour color and contour before foundation but I prefer after as it makes more of a difference in what you're contouring. Like it's easier to adjust because when it's under the foundation it sheers down too much for me

This is the one thing I am the most uncomfortable with Tbh. I have used a light bronzer in the past and know it's probably not the best after reading these posts recently. So, as a intro contour powder what would you ladies recommend. I'd like something more drug store level so I can really play with it while not wasting a ton of money.

For powder you can use any face powder in about 2 shades darker than your skin tone. for cream I like the crayon style concealers, in also about 2 shades darker than your skin.

Thanks! I'll have to look into this. I really like nyx products also, so this is a great option.

Just a quick run down,Grey tone is needed nothing more. grey like your shadow when you stand outside. That's the effect your going for when it comes to contour if you use brown or any other colors it will give an appearance of a boxers face lol  :-)

It's usually grey tone because it's the mimic of shadowing, you know when you look in the mirror and you have that natural grey tone to the hollows of the cheek? That's what the aim is and when a red tone or brown is thrown in it it gives off a harsh finish and looks like a over powered streak and defeats the purpose of actual structure. All colors added after the effect of contour is just added to finish off the technique but not same form for the nose it will need to stay in the grey color because if you add the other colors that can go real bad really quick it gives off a bruised looked and can also be noticed off the bat since light hits that area right away and it's very noticeable if not blended well or color not on point.I use to use smash box contour powder but sadly for some odd reason which I don't understand they have discontinued it ugh but now I'm looking at the Kevyan Aucoin sculpt powder that jackie had recommended and I'm curious about the Anastasia Kit which seems to be out of stock.I do how ever if need be use a foundation just one or two shades darker then the skin tone nothing more but I'm truly light handed with it and blend it to the Max lol.Hope this made sense Velen :-)..I'll add a pic of red tone contour in the nose gone bad
