Braids are wonderful for it. You can French braid your hair twice it more if you want or you can just do 4-8 regular braids depending on how thick your hair is. Sleeping in them will give them the shape. Also you can do it with damp hair or dry hair. I do mine dry since I find my hair will not dry in a braid when it is damp.
Also you can find a diy where you use water and sea salt and some other stuff like oils to make a spray skit makes your hair have beach waves :) I'm hoping to try it soon
