So my hair is naturally curly and was so beautiful and in ringlets.
I have straightened my hair quite often (almost every day) from the age of 13-16 and in the past year and a half I have not straightened very often (about once a week).
Over the past two years my hair has lost its beautiful curl and it is curly in some parts (but not like the ringlets I had) and straight/wavy in the rest of my hair.
My hair is damaged so I'm wondering why my hair went from super curly to this. I'm thinking it's because it's damaged and dry so should I just cut off most of my hair and start over?

If I do cut off most of my hair will it grow back to the way it was?

Sorry for the delay. my phone is actn fussy.
very cool. I miss 18.. ;-)
its prob the flat irons.
before you cut your hair try gettin it back in shape. deep conditioner as much as possible..
olive oil, even if you have to shampoo it out so your hair isn't too heavy your hair needs as much healthy oils and conditioner as possible.
you're 18 so hormone changes are there but on average it will grown back curly if you do decide to cut it.

I would start by using a protein filler (they are not nourishing, so may dry the hair a little) then deep condition and hot oil it like crazy!

I agree with the previous comments. Do a protein treatment, and stay away from heat. Don't wash your daily, do it every three days. Don't over use conditioner it'll just dry out your hair. Use coconut oil and put it in a silk cap when you go to bed, or a silk pillow case.

If you live in a big city try going into a salon that caters to curly clients. Ouidad, Deva Curl. Those are great lines for curly hair. Look them up.

Get a trim and buy an argon or maroccan oil and apply it Every night when you get out of the shower, I apply a generous amount cause my hair used to be like yours, my curls were so nice but my hair was dry so they weren't curls anymore, they were frizz but after I got a trim and focused on keeping my hair hydrated it's made the biggest difference!
