Heat damage should only be on dead hair so as long as you keep new hair healthy you should be able to grow it out. I'm growing my hair out right now and I've used organix products like the noirishing coconut oil shampoo and conditioner and the biotin conditioner. I also use beyond the zone protein cocktail. Hope I could help.

Get a trim, buy a good maroccan or argan oil and apply it every night after your shower :)

I have the longest thickest hair and I loooved it but it was dead ends galore and unhealthy. I bit the bullet and chopped it off (to collarbone length- about 14 inches!) and now I'm growing it out healthy. (: use a sulfate free shampoo/conditioner and use deep treatments once a week. Be gentle when it's wet and use hear protects when using hot tools (use sparingly!) I love leave in conditioners, too! Also I trim my every 8 weeks or so to maintain length but still get rid of dead ends. I'm determined to grow it out long and healthy this time!
