You should definitely try an eye primer, but I would try using a setting powder either way. you need to set liquid & cream products with a setting powder or they will not stay in place - in this case, crease. when you're doing your face, just close your eyes & dust over them quickly. hopefully that'll help your problem (:

I have the same problem. First I dust my lids with just a tiny bit of translucent powder and then I use MAC Painterly Paint Pot as my base. Shadows stay put all day.

Wait I just realized you said you don't wear shadows. Lol. Just powder your eye area with translucent powder.

I would suggest applying an eye primer to your eyes. Eye primers are used for a few different things. They give you a nice clean canvas to work on by evening out the color and diminishing the drastic appearance of veins (if you have them). They also help to richen the color value of shadows you wear, if you wear them. Most primers are crease-resistant as well, meaning they keep your eyeshadow from gathering in the crease.
I personally adore the Urban Decay Original Primer for several reasons. It has a marvelous consistency, and does an excellent job of evening the skin tone on my lids. Very crease resistant as well!! You can purchase it at Ulta, Sephora, and the Urban Decay website.
I also love my Smashbox Photo Lid Primer however I wouldn't recommend it if you are merely seeking to reduce creasing.
My last suggestion is the Elf Lid Primer... It is very sheer, but gets the job done nicely. Plus it is only a few dollars. When I wear it, there is little to no creasing, even after an eight hour school day.
As for application issues... Creasing can often times be caused by improper application of eye products. When applying liquid or cream products like foundations or primers to the eyes, you should not rub it on them. Rather, you should pat it on the eye lid with either your middle or ring finger, because those are weak fingers and it reduces the pulling and force applied to your eyes.
Anyway, I hope this helped, at least a little! Have a marvelous day and stay Gorgeous!!
