it all just depends on the look your going for. you dont always have to use a white highlight, you can use any lighter color that will just brighten up your eyes. for example, when i do a purple look, i always use a "digit" from mac which is a really light lavender color to highlight the whole look together. you can also do a matte highlight when you have a really glittery/shimmer look going on. hope this helps :)

Any light sheer color will work. Shimmery or matte would do just fine.

i like to use a color that's close to my skintone and is matte. i have oily skin so doing shimmer on my lid works for me but the crease and highlight have to be matte for me!

It depends on your skin tone. I suggest never using a white to highlight your eyes though. Something beige or golden for your complexion.

I agree with Raisa C. 2-3 shades lighter than your skintone. If your using matter eyeshadows on your eyelids than you would use a shimmer highlight and vice versa. Thats what I like to do : )

I use anything lighter than my skin tone with a shimmer to it.
