Are women addicted to eyeliner?

I have to go on the radio tomorrow! They are doing a piece on why many women are addicted to eyeliner, and eye makeup in general, they want an expert's opinion on why that is, the expert must have been unavailable because they asked me! My theory is that many of us play up the eyes because it's nature's way of attracting a mate, big eyes are reminiscent of babies who need protecting, this brings out the nurturing side of the male. That and because it makes us look pretty! Any opinions would be gratefully recieved xx

Well i can't speak for women, but I play up my eyes because I think it makes me look more awake and put together. Eyes are one of the most prominent forms of communication on your face, you want them to look presentable! (:

great answer! It's in my notepad :)

Thanks, that's beautiful, interesting and insightful xx

I agree with Andrew B. on how eyeliner enhances your eyes. For me I use eyeliner depending on if i want to make my eyes a bit rounder, make my lashes seem thicker/fuller or just have fun and use a bright colored eyeliner, as its really hard for me to pull off a bright eyeshadow (dunno, it just looks unnatural to me...lol) :D

Eyeliner really does enhance your eyes, but I also find that when I'm doing my makeup and I apply a small bit of eyeliner and mascara it doesn't seem right I always have to make sure I have some on my upper lid to help define my eyes and allow them to stand out.

This is fab, thanks beauties! Really interesting xxx

I guess I would never use the term 'addicted' when it comes to eyeliner but I will say that I use it daily, no fail. If I don't wear any other makeup product, it's foundation and eyeliner.

I think people are more addicted to mascara than eyeliner lol. :) Anyways, I think some people don't like putting too much face makeup on to avoid breakouts and everything so instead we tend to focus on eyeliner and mascara and maybe a little eyeshadow to make us look more awake and put together.
