does anyone have tips on lighting for videos? When I sit in front of a window or put a lamp directly in front of me it actually seems to be to much light and my face is to white to see colors. Any advice?

I've seen a few gurus who have what looks like flourescent light strips above their filming area.

Thanks for the tips guys! I just filmed a whole tutorial trying out different lighting to see how it would work and then accidentally deleted it thinking it was a picture -_- whoops lol

Hi Courtney! I have a couple of tips that I wrote in this article. http://www.beautylish.com/a/vmqmr/inexpensive-tutorial-lighting-tips
For lamps, you either want it close to your face but not too close or you want a filter over it just so you are not completely washed out.

Some gurus use octagon lighting which is the same lighting professional photographers use. The lighting I use is just a 30 dollar multi-head lamp from Target and I put clear halogen light bulbs in it. That way I can adjust how much or little light shines directly on my face. Hope that helps! :)

When I filmed my first 2 videos I had my curtains open but the blinds down but open so light filtered through but I was too white today I had the curtains open and blinds half open with a lamp shining at me from the side it worked pretty well I also had an over head light on aswell and I had morew colour to me and also you could see what colors of makeup I was wearing hope this helps lighting is soo hard at college we used really bright hot studio lights on both sides and over head ones but it can get a little hot with too much light on you.
