sorry for starting so many conversations, i have a lot of questions :/ i'm saving up to buy some makeup, and i think it would be easier to stick to one brand. which one?

It's pretty hard to stick to one brand... I tried that when I first started w/ MAC... which I think is reasonably priced for a above average product. I found that I mostly started my collection out w/ MAC shadows and blushes... I didn't enjoy their foundations or skin-related products too much.
My all time favorite happens to be Make Up For Ever, but it's pricey... and even though 80% or more of the products are my favorites, odds are, someone out there hates it. It all depends on your skin's needs, but MAC is usually the gateway drug from drugstore brands to higher-end brands. Good luck!

As Soma said it is difficult to stick to a brand. Trying out different products from different brands is the way to find out which products from what brand work best for you. Starting with something like a BH Cosmetic palette would be good. You'll get a wide range of colors to work with. And their are having a sale up to 40% off going on now. Their 1st Edition 120 palette is $20.96. That's my fav palette from them & I use it often. But as to what brands you want to start with will be up to you :)

I like Mac and I love Stila. Stila is pretty much on the lower end price wise as well. Inglots is good, only if you get the freedom palette.

Since you're just starting out, maybe you can do a little of both drugstore and high end brands. There are so many drugstore lines out there that have great quality products. Two of my faves are NYX and Milani. Definitely check them out!

I would recommend doing some research (here and other sources) about what products are good from what brands. Like MAC lipsticks and eyeshadows, Urban Decay shadows, Stila lip glazes (I don't particularly like them but I know a lot of people do). That would probably benefit you more than just sticking to one brand.

If you're just starting, I'd suggest starting with drugstore brands... My favorite cheaper ones are L'Oreal and NYX. I also keep hearing good things about Wet 'n' Wild and that's even cheaper.
