honey BIRTH CONTROL or a better diet. I went to the GYN & for a while they didn't say anything.

Do you have hair growth in odd places?
Is it hard to lose weight?

Try asking them to do a sonogram on your ovaries, you might have "MIGHT" being the key word here, POLYCYSTIC Ovarian Syndrome...also known as PCOS.. Look it up.

Hope I helped...and it can also be your body changing or a hormonal imbalance which would still mean Birth Control.

I def. agree w/ Mirna above... I had a friend in HS w/ an irregular period, and birth control straightened her out. If you're worried about a smell, use Summer's Eve shower products to wash with. It really does make a difference, since it's actually Ph balanced for your... *ahem*... vaginal issues.  =)

One of my really good friends is anemic and she has her period for like months at a time. Maybe it could be that? And yeah, your period wont be consistent for a while when you first get it!

I used to have the same problem with my period. It would last a REALLY long time when I was 13-14 - it's definitely normal. It'll become more & more normal as you get older. :D I used to go months without it & then weeks with it. I then went on birth control for a few months then my period started becoming a bit more regular.

I'm 19 now & while I'm still irregular, my periods no longer last weeks but just 4-5 days. You'll be ok. :)

I didn't realize you were 14.. Sorry
Honestly don't be scared. I started my period at 14 almost 15. And I would get it one month and then nothing for 8 months. Just ask mom she will know what to do .. Btw I'm 29 & I still go through your situation once or twice a year.

I think you should relax. Deep breathes. Since you just started, it will probably be irregular for a little bit. I know that when i started (I had just turned 13 a month before) it was a little irregular for awhile but then it regulated itself. Now it's extremely regular and I pretty much know what week it'll happen. If you're really worried, talk to your mom about going on birth control or just talk to her about her experiences. It could help you out.

I think you just started in February and from what I read when I was your age, it was normal to have irregular periods. You could always talk to your mom though- she might have had a similar experience to what you have now.

yeah everyone is different and it can take some time to regulate. Hunny being a woman can be a pain lol. I think you should just breathe and just annotate every period and the length so that you can also show to your doc on your next scheduled visit

If you have an android phone theres an app that will let help you keep track of your period. Its called Period Tracker.

I love using the period tracker on my android. Helps me to remember when I need to restock my purse.  ;-)

My period wasn't normal for at least two years.

I've had a few urinary tract infections and they aren't pleasant. You have to pee often, only a few drops come out, and it HURTS! Side pain could be a kidney infection. You probably want to see a doctor about that just in case. It's a simple/quick pee in a cup test.

Its completely normal to get cramps down there, girl! Is the pain coming from the spot right next to your hip bone?

Okay, relax. But yes if you do pee a lot I wouldn't worry too much. I had a UTI (or so they say...) a couple years ago and I waited until it was bad. It didn't get to a bladder/kidney infection. But a UTI is when you have the urge to pee a lot, only a little bit comes out and when its done it burns and hurts like crazy. If you're worried about it, get some cranberry juice (no sugar, it'll irritate it) and start drinking. It often helps to prevent the continuation of UTIs. And it tastes good. :D

Plus what Erica said, it could be cramps, I had the worst ones ever a day or two ago...

Hi Crystal, I know it might seem like a good idea to reach out and talk to other girls about your medical concerns but this really isn't the place. You need to talk to your mom, your doctor, or another adult that can handle these issues appropriately.

Talk forums are public and once it's published on the internet it's anyone's property to do with whatever they want. Later in life you may not want people like your employers to see topics like this. Just something to think about.
