Hello everyone, I have never used E.L.F. cosmetics, but I recieved an email from E.L.F. for "pick out 10 items for $10...just pay shipping." In the fine print is says "must spend $20". Two questions...first, is this deal worth it? Second, what items would you choose? I was thinking palettes and brushes but I'm sure anything a little pricier would end up applying to the "must spend $20" instead of being $1. Im looking for product and color selection suggestions. I wonder if I could still use the free shipping code in addition...probably not.

I personally do not like ELF products. I would go for NYX : )

Thanks, I actually just bought a bunch of NYX the otherday...waiting for the delivery man to bring it to me. Ican't wait to play with my new stuff!

I think a 50% off coupon code or more would be a better bet, since you would get more with a $20 purchase minimum...
I'm not so much a fan of their cosmetics, but their Studio line tools are awesome. I have their brush holders, brush belt and 11pc stuidio brush set, and they're actually VERY well made. =)

I just like E.L.F Brushes and lipglosses but overall their makeup isn't good and their nail polishes even worse!!!

for the price, i love elf! i definitely recommend their studio brushes, hd powder, & tinted moisturizer. like soma said, you'd prolly be better off with a 50% off code. they run specials like that all of the time if you stay on top of the website. even though their prices are amazing, i still don't think i've paid full price for many of my elf items! i love their coupons!

for the price ELF is good. i would lean more towards buying stuff from the studio line. i have all of the studio brushes & so far so good. i've brought some stuff from the $1 like it wasnt that great. but i cant be made seeing that i only paid $1 plus tax for it. i love that they always have different sales on the site. i'd say go to target or kmart & see what ELF products they have their before you purchase online & spend all that extra money on shipping. a lot of the stuff they have on the website, they dont sell in the stores though.

That coupon was my gateway into buying lots of E.L.F. products. What I did was order the $20?$25? i cant remember the exact price but it was a Best Seller kit. Then I just picked out 10 products I knew I wanted to try like eyeliners and brushes.
Overall I'd say the best of their line is the studio line, HD powder is pretty good, the Mineral Face primer is greaat, tinted moisturizer, and I personally enjoy their waterproof pen eyeliner. That last one is debatable for each girl but I actually enjoyed using it and it didn't smudge for me. Their eyeshadows, while not the best or most pigmented, are pretty okay. I was surprised how much I enjoy this $5 e.l.f. Studio Endless Eyes Pro Mini Eyeshadow Palette . Combined with a good eyeprimer the colors last and look decent like my other good eyeshadows.
You totally just missed their Anniversary month sales too! They had a 70% off coupon in July along with other really good sales.
Stuff to stay away from/be warry of:
All over Cover Stick in Pink Lemonade-terrible for blush, doesn't last on lips, looks funky on your eyes.
Any false lashes-the glue comes dried out. Buy your own
Shimmering Facial Whip-only use VERY LITTLE. It will highlight like crazy if you use to much and will look so awkward on your face
Liquid eyeshadow- messy and might come dried out.
Hope that helps!
