Hello all:
My hair is naturally dark brown and I've been wanting to go blonde for a while now. I'm just so scared that my hair will fall out! If anyone has any tips, please share! Thanks :-)

My suggestion is that when it comes to going blonde from a darker color and you've don't have experience with bleach go to a beauty school. It's relatively inexpensive and you don't have to worry about messing up your own hair.

i've had dark, almost black hair...and now i'm platinum blonde...SOOOO
i would suggest getting a lot of highlights first. it took be literally 8 months to get to the level of blonde i wanted. once you are platinum (or whatever shade of blonde you want) only get your roots touched up when you get your hair dyed. this will prevent the rest of your hair from being continuously damaged. use purple shampoo to keep the brassiness out, and use lots of leave in and deep conditioners so your hair doesn't have that "fried" appearance. my hair is actually quite soft for being dyed every 6 wks..

Thanks ladies, for the advice. I will be doing the bleach process at home. I plan on using a kit. Probably Manic Panic's bleach kit.

OK ladies, I actually have a Keratin treatment in my hair and I just found out that bleach will strip the treatment :-( So I'm holding off on going blonde. It will have to wait 'til another time.
