I was watching some videos on youtube about how to depot nyx jumbo eyeshadow pencils. Will this work with shade sticks from mac as well? I know the shade sticks aren't as creamy so I am wondering if it will be even harder to use them depotted.

it will not work the same because NYX is petroleum based and MAC is silicone based. Heating the product might melt it, but it will also dry the product out.

If you twist the shade stick all the way up you can pull the stick out; but you would have to have an airtight container because silicone based products (think gel liners) can dry out and become difficult to use.
