I have the remnants of an asymmetrical bob growing out. My hair is very fine (seems to be getting a bit thin too as I'm getting older). I'm dying to keep growing my hair but it's getting a bit boring at this stage.

What tools/techniques can I use to volumize my fine hair? I have considered extensions too but I'm too cheap to spend the money. I would like to try out those hot new feather extensions though! Any thoughts on those?

Thanks!

When I had a short bob what I use to do to get amazing volume was Paul Mitchells Extra Body Volume Shampoo and Conditioner along with either of these one products Bed Head Small Talk/ Paul Mitchell Thicken Up/ Paul Mitchell Tea Tree lemon sage thickening spray. As for techniques I would just blow dry my hair bending over upside down. I found it the easiest.

Have you tried using velcro rollers. RE: the hair extensions, they are fab and not too expensive depending the brand. I just did a featur on hair extensions and how to make your own on my blog. It may be helpful. http://www.exclusivelyglamm.com (under the Glamm Hair tab)

Curl your hair with a curling iron no smaller than 1-1/2 inch barrel, or use thick curl rollers (rollers are also safer and less-damaging for hair.) Use Pantene's Fine Hair Solutions products such as Triple Action Volume Mousse and Touchable Volume Hairspray. Blow dry and brush your fingers through your hair. And multi-colored feather extensions are a great touch!
For more hair growth, brush your hair often, or find a cheap head massager (they both stimulate hairs on your scalp)
