Hey everyone! So I'm trying to lose a few pounds, but I'm finding it very hard lately for some reason. Does anyone know any good foods, drinks, simple exercises or any other tricks to lose a bit of weight? I don't plan on losing a lot, only around 5 pounds. Anyways, thanks for the help! :)

Drink a big glass of water before a meal so you can feel satisfied sooner :) and always have an apple or carrot sticks with you if you want to have a snack, so you don't go with something less healthy :P

hey babe green tea and even oolong tea or wulong tea are great! Drink lots of tea and water and avoid any sugar drinks and pop. I also use Splenda in my tea since it is 0 cals. Count calories and have a set goal for each day. Write down what you ate and the cals if it helps. I also try not to eat after 7pm because this really really helps. Good foods include:
Scrambled Eggs with Whole Grain Pita Wrap in the Morning
Melba Toast
Fruits and Veggies
Vegetable Thins
Yogurt - I like Yoptimal and Activia
Cheesesticks - snack

Good Luck! xox

I also eat a lot of salmon and veggie burgers. These are delicious and high in protein. You always want to have food low in fat and carbs and high in fiber and protein. xox muah

i went to a dietitian a few months ago, and the main thing that she told me was to ALWAYS eat 3 meals a day AND 3 snacks, you ALWAYS need to have something in your system so your body doesn't store everything as fat. Also no 'white' food, no white bread, white rice, white potato's... etc. I lost 6 lbs in 2 weeks... it's not a lot, but it's healthy weight loss. It's honestly really easy to lose weight that way. You also need to eat a lot of green and orange veggies!

Drink water instead of other drinks. Most drinks like juices have a lot of "hidden" calories (as in, you don't notice that you're consuming them.) Don't drink diet sodas and avoid white bread, white rice, etc. Changing up the way you eat with these simple tricks is an easy way to cut the excess calories.

Go to the gym and in addition to cardio, use the machines and free weights. It'll help you tone up and lose weight a lot faster than just cardio alone.

www.myfitnesspal.com is a free website that allows you to track your calories / fat / sugars per day and also your exercise activity. the program is designed to make you lose weight and you set your own goal + how many pounds you wanna lose a week.

Are you wanting to actually lose weight or tone? Don`t worry about the number on the scale, if you look and feel good, that's all that should matter. And remember, muscle weighs more then fat so if you do gain muscle from toning and looking fit, it won't reflect on the scale :p

@ Ashley G -- what she said about eating 3 meals and 3 snacks is super important! Just keep in mind portion sometimes its easy to overeat for a snack and it turns into a meal!

Don't make rules for yourself or make things complicated! Just simplify it. Think of it as being healthier. Drink green or white tea with little sugar (good, healthy things! fills you up a bit so your not hungry.. antioxidants!) ! Or water. Cut back on sodas and sugary drinks. Think about EMPTY calories. These are calories with no nutritional value. Potato chips, sugary snacks, cookies, stuff like that. They aren't nutritional so your body doesn't USE the calories, so instead of being used- they're stored as body fat. So just think about nutrition. Veggies, fruits, whole grains. Cut back on breads, potatoes, pasta. Have a normal diet but just cut back on things that your body doesn't use. Find one thing that you can cut back on. For example.. I drink a lot of soda. 3 cups a day-ish. If I substituted that with water that'd be about minus 500 calories a day. For a week that'd be 3500 calories. 3500 calories equals one pound. So by doing that I could lose that weight without changing much. I could also go on walks, do dance sessions in my room, go for a swim... regular, non-strenuous things more often, atleast once a day and that's burning calories! Doing little things over a larger amount of time really help with weight loss in the long run. Studies show that when one person does a strict diet and workout for a month losing lots of pounds- and another does little things that add up over a longer amount of time- the person who did the easier, slower process is more likely to KEEP the weight off, where it'd be easier for the other person to gain it right back, yknow??? Stuff like that!

The older you get, the harder it gets. Unfortunately. As 30 looms ever nearer for me I'm realizing this more and more. The best advice I could ever give is DON'T starve yourself. When you do that, you train your body to hold onto fat like there's no tomorrow (because well, to your body, there just might not be one).

So eat normal, healthful meals... which do not include pizza, chips, sweets, ect. and actually move your body. Go for a powerwalk (embarassing) or a jog (less embarassing but also more damage on your knees and stuff)... Whatever you do, it has to be for at least twenty minutes, three to four times a week.

If there's nothing metabolically wrong with your body and you're basically young, you should see results by amping up the workouts alone. If you're ACtually eating right- and not just saying you are, as you finish off your Taco Bell Ultimate Super Supreme Fat-Filled Burrito, then you will lose weight.

If you're truly watching those edibles and working out and STILL not seeing anything?? Well maybe you're already at your ideal weight and your body is just not going to give in to your Kate Moss aspirations. Google your BMI (body mass index) and see where you fall, that's a decent indicator. If you're super worried then see an actual doctor- you could have hypothyroidism (your thyroid isn't as active as it should be which makes it more difficult for your metabolism to function properly).

If all else fails, there's always meth. KIDDDDING.

Try doing something like this to jump start your metabolism and work your whole body fat loss is best doing exercises like these which can be modified if they are too hard or too easy =]

Another good one this is to help strengthen core/tone tummy. Strong core = better overall fitness and strength in all exercises

I thought this was helpful since this is an area that most women have issues with (armpit area) and here is a realistic/healthy way to get rid of it =]

I'm so glad you asked this question. I need some emergency tips for NYE coming up lol. Because I wanna look "goooooood" ;)
All I know is that I need to cut out sodium and not eat anything salty before the day of the event right? So I don't look bloated. What kind of workouts do you ladies do to get a flat tummy or like your love handles away?

here is a link to a video talking about how to lose 5 pounds of water weight by the weekend. Losing and gaining water weight is a diet related issue, cutting foods with sodium and even some healthy foods with lots of carbs helps reduce water retention. This is NOT a long term solution its just to lose the bloat.

Exercise! take time out to walk or jog.
