Dying Bleached Blonde Hair Back to Dark Brown

So over the summer I decided to do a stupid idea and bleach my hair and dye it blonde. I did my bangs and the back of my haiir. So now I have about 2in of roots, and about an 1inch ago it started to stop growing alltogether, and so I got it cut. I would've gotten a pixi cut, but i hate short hair. so my hairdressure said dont use any heat and find a color and we weill dye it next month. well. it's next month, and i have a dark brown, so do you think my whole head will be dark, or have the blonde parts light? just curious.

Your hair dresser should be able to cover it but it will fade on your bleached hair so until your hair grows out you'll have to keep coloring it.

Any hairdresser worth seeing will be able to cover your hair entirely and have it match and look decent. If she doesn't think she can do that then you need to go to someone else! Brown is fine, but make sure you've chosen something with some red undertones in it or you could end up with swampy (greenish) looking brown. Hopefully whoever you go to have your hair done knows how to put color over bleach- you can't just put any old thing over it and expect it to look natural.

That said, no matter what color she puts back into your hair there is going to be some color that washes out, especially from the bleached areas. I had a similar experience with my bleach blonde hair. I asked for a deep, rich redish brown so that as it faded, I'd be able to slowly go back to a more natural looking dirty blonde that wasn't too ashy- and *thank god* that's exactly what's happening with my hair right now.

Just make sure you're totally comfortable with whoever is about to color your hair.. if she sounds unsure, you can say sorry, but I think I just want to wait it out a bit more (and then book with someone else!).

Yeah I'm going to plan on re-dying it to keep it dark. And I'll talk to her about the red. She's my 'brothers' mom and has done my hair for years, so I trust her:)
