Hey everyone, My name is Myshel and I need some advice on what to put on my lips. I usually don't get chapped lips but it seems this winter I have some serious chapping...lol. I usually put Vaseline on my lips at night or I will use Mary Kay's Satin lips scrub & lip balm or my favorite EOS chapstick. But currently none of these are working. Help my lips are on fire!!! lol

Definitely try Bag Balm. It comes in a square, green tin and you can find it at Target and quite a few drugstores--it works wonders! I'm in New England and I swear everyone up here uses it during the winter ;)

I've heard Aquaphor makes a great lip balm but I have yet to see it or try it myself.

Lot's of fluids [hazelnut or Mexican hot chocolate, anyone?] and Badger brand lip balms! Poetic Pomegranate has seabuckthorn in it, and it saves my lips from cracking every winter. You can find it at Ulta, and it's nice to know I'm not ingesting harmful chemicals and nasties.
If that's out of the way, Blistex Complete Moisture is a go-to for me.

Mexican hot chocolate - I always get it at our Christmas In The Park in our downtown area... but if all else fails, just get some cayenne pepper to regular hot chocolate - there are lots of recipe's online. I love the spicy kick it gives!
Good luck, Myshel! =D

there's always the trusty carmex! That stuff is awesome, it works wonders for my poor chapped lips...I've also heard that the jack black lip treatments or whatever they are work pretty well...hope your lips feel better! =)

Myshel D. - boo... Wish you could try it! Hazelnut hot chocolate is good too... Like drinking Nutella... With the warm fuzzy feeling of winter. Just add three pumps of Torrani's hazelnut syrup, and you're good to go! =]

Where can I find Torrani's hazelnut syrup? Any supermarket?

Have you been exfoliating as well? If you exfoliate with olive oil and sugar before you condition that can help as well :)
I've heard that the Bobbi Brown Lip Balm is fantastic, I'm interested in trying it. http://www.beautylish.com/p/bobbi-brown-lip-balm-spf-15?f=20257

Myshel, I know the feeling :( I get super bad chapping this time of year because I lick my lips when I'm STRESSED OUT (and tis the season!)... I keep little sugar packs I get at cafes under my sink and exfoliate my lips with them when things get really bad. And if you can, hit up Sephora and buy a little tube of Jack Black Intense Therapy Balm--that's my go-to for chapped lips and it's only like $6. The line is for guys but who cares? This stuff works and doesn't break the bank.

Myshel, I remember seeing them at Safeway, but their selection may be limited. You can try smart and final, bevmo, or online if you have amazon prime, shipping is free. =]

@ Soma... it sounds delicious I will definitely checking for it. In the winter I love to have hot chocolate or coffee every morning... this will be a great addition to my routine...hehe

@Jasmine... I have ... I try to exfoliate my lips every another day. But when my lips are burning it hurts to much. I've been using Mary Kay Satin Lip duo for months now and its really good. But lately it hasn't been helping. For the last three months I have been home recovering from foot surgery and now that I can walk more I've been able to go outside. So I think this may be the reason why the cold has been harsher on my lips because I was indoors for so long.

@Sara... yes I have been doing a lot of that too which makes it worse...SMH. But tonight I plan to go to CVS (their having a 50-75% beauty sale) and I will be picking up some of the suggestions the girls have been giving me. Hoping next week to go to Sephora & Ulta and get some of the Jack Black Lip Balm too. Thanks =)

Don't over do it with different chapticks it might irritate you lips since it's a sensitive area and yes exfoliating is very important you can make a simple sugar scrub at home and use that or Fresh makes a sugar lip polish and even lush has a lip scrub but I like the fresh or homemade one better
Dec 14, 2011
Myshel D.
True...hehe. Have you tried the Lush lip scrub... I've heard great things about it & wanted to buy it.
