So I'm just starting to get into makeup and I just purchased the professional makeup brushes from elf. My next step should be getting the actual makeup. The big problem for me is that I have really sensitive skin. Are there any good make up products out there, that don't cost to much? I'm looking mainly for foundation, blush and eyeshadow.

Do you know what your skin reacts to? I have sensitive skin, and I know for sure MAC and NARS blushes do not work for me. Instead, Tarte's Amazonian Clay blushes - Bare Minerals blushes - Physician's Formula Happy Booster blushes - and MUFE HD blushes work for me. It's strange because Bare Minerals' foundations [I've tried ALL of their formulas] dried out my skin and made it tight and itchy... so no mineral foundation for me.

I use MUFE HD foundation, and from what I've seen, it's mostly earned its hype because it works with a pretty wide variety of skin types. Does not break me out... and I love it to pieces.

As for eyeshadow, I've not found any strange reactions to particular brands, and I tend to migrate towards MAC, MUFE or Sugarpill. I have some UD ones from the Naked palette, but I don't use those as often.

Hope that helps, and good luck! It's a pain navigating through what works and what doesn't. It's trial and error, and I hope that you find it without having to suffer through any reactions to products!  =D

Appreciate the recommendation for MUFE HD Foundation. My skin is sensitive and I'm always wary of breakouts. But everytime I am at Sephora I gravitate to the to MUFE display.

Check out CVS for their beauty clearance - revlon's colorstay eyeshadow quads come out to like 1.82. (my stores didnt have the clearance prices labeled, so check the price scanner) Also Nouveau Cheap (the blog) has a HUGE list of everything on clearance, so that would be a good opportunity to pick up some products that are inexpensive.

In general i really like sephora bc you can return anything pretty much whenever, so if your skin reacts you can get your $ back. Plus there are always good deals on products (Stila It Girl #2 Palette for example, let me know if you need more specific suggestions!)

Most makeup is hypoallergenic and without sampling each product, there is no telling what will cause a reaction in your skin. And what works for some one else's sensative skin might not work for yours. It'll kind of be trail and error but most stores offer a sampling program so you can try before you buy.

go to sephora and have a color specialist help you...you can get samples of everything you need try them out and then if your skin doesnt react you can go back and buy whichever product you like....like Angel said it very hard to know what is going to make your skin react without trying it on first because everyone is different...also if you try out certain products and your skin does react look and see if there is a common ingredient in all the products that were problematic for you and maybe that ingredient is wat your skin doesnt like...it will make your life alot easier down the road....hope you find wat u are looking for!

Some Mac eyeshadows made me break up and I had to see the dermatologist and everything. That is because I was just purchasing and not looking into things.

A few brands I know that are good for me with extremely sensitive skin are

Almay
Physicians Formula
Clinique
Lumene
and Inglot

I am sure there are more but I am speaking from experience
