About freaking time! I like how Europe was one of the first to do this... but I am so angry the US takes their sweet time to follow up with being responsible and honest just to turn a profit. I believe the EU banned petroleum based products in cosmetics, but we still use them? It makes no sense! Our govt. should be protecting us - from misleading ads and products that can lead to mental health disorders AND physical health issues.

I sure as hell don't want my cosmetics making me think I need to be anorexic to be beautiful... and I know there are cancer causing chemicals in everything, but at least regulate it better so we have a fighting chance to avoid it!

I take less issue with emaciated models in advertising- the consumer at least has a hint of control in that case. However, if I see an ad for an Asus Eee PC showing a screen cap of Crysis, it's blatantly false advertising. The Eee doesn't play crisis, CoverGirl's mascara doesn't look like that, and by the time I find that out I've already given them my money.

This is really awesome! Mainly because the way women are represented in any kind of beauty product advertisement is totally un-real and ridiculous. Not good for anybody to see and think women actually look that way, seriously. Unattainable, impossible beauty standards set to all girls. But it'll also be good for makeup shoppers. I'd love to see a mascara add that doesn't have a model with falsies on! It would help so much.
