I'm on the hunt for glitter and my boyfriend thinks I'm crazy because I won't just go and stick some craft glue from Michael's on my eyes. After seeing the gorgeous shades Martha Stewart puts out I WAS tempted lol, but decided I should just wait it out til I find something safe.

What are some of your favorite cosmetic grade glitters to use? :)

I'd definitely recommend Lit Cosmetics, they've got a massive array of colours with a few different size options as well.

I use NYX loose glitter. They got in my eye on new years eve (lol) and didnt hurt. They're also affordable so if you decide you dont like it, its not a total loss.

nyx has cream glitter palettes that are nice! they have a great layer of glitter at the top but once you use that first layer up you get to the cream which is still glittery but not as much as it was on the top i still love it though!

also i have giveaway going on on my beauty channel so make sure you check that out before it ends! http://www.youtube.com/jaclynsmyname

Ummm ok question! I have the cream glitter palette from NYX, and I planned on using it for my eye makeup and different looks... but after using it several times and coming up with a couple different looks, I noticed on the back of the palette (and later all of the NYX glitters that I saw at Ulta) that it says "not intended for use around the eye area" ... ?! What does this mean? Should I be concerned?

Heather, to be honest there are alot of silly products like that, such as MAC gel eyeliner. It says that it isnt approved to use on the waterline of your eye, which I find silly as you would naturally use it there as well. However A LOT of people still do so, myself included (whenever I want to splurge a bit on eyeliner!!) and I have not had any issues with it at all. So really, its up to you, if you find that it irritates your eyes in the slightest don't use it... but if it doesn't then keep it :)

And also talking about glitter eye shadow, I have experimented with glitter eyeliner, and dabbed it onto the back of my hand and using my finger tip but it over shadow on my eye lids, and I have loved the results! Finally found a use for all those tubes of glitter eyeliner that I bought thinking I can't live without them!

If you have time also, I'd also appreciate it if you took a look at my blog, you don't have to :)

Technically, cosmetic grade glitter doesn't exist, since the FDA doesn't approve any glitter for eye use. If a company says they sell FDA approved glitter, they are lying. I've used "craft" glitter on my eyes a few times with no harmful effects. Glitter is glitter to me. I refuse to pay for the phrase "cosmetic grade" when its not even true. That being said, I do use the Sally's and NYX glitters most often because they are affordable. If you feel comfortable, you could always buy a jar of glitter, patch test it, and if you react badly, use the glitter for your nails, hair or even (shocker!) crafts. These are just suggestions, please don't blame me if you any negative reaction and good luck.

DO make sure that you ue cosmetic glitters and not the non eye safe ones, it's not just BS. Trust me.

The problem with glitters that aren't eye safe is not that they would irritate your skin, it's about getting it in your eyes.

Craft glitters and other non eye safe glitters are made of sharp plastic and/or metal which can harm your eyes badly while cosmetic glitters are often made of polyester which softens when you get it in your eye, plus it's cut rounded and not pointed like the cheap glitters.

PLEASE take care of your eyes, you don't have a spare pair, and wasting them on plastic glitters is so damn unneccesary.

So what if I buy polyester glitter? Is that the same as me buying a cosmetic brand glitter?
