I use L'Oreals Magic Smooth Souffle Foundation. It's a little pricey for drug store foundation but a small amount of product offers a lot of coverage so it's definitely worth it.

myrna, alot of stores now have a decent return policy where you can return/exchange if the color isn't right! i know cvs takes back open makeup, so maybe look into those options?

I was a loyal MAC Pro Longwear believer....and then I went to the drug store.
I have never used a drugstore foundation before but heard SO MANY things about Revlon's Photo Ready Liquid Foundation. It applies much smoother than the MAC Pro Longwear--however, they do not have a very big selection for colors and tend to lean more on the warm side instead of the cool side (yellow versus pink undertones).
I will say, they do have some shimmery goodness going on in this foundation, but nothing noticeable. The idea is that it is supposed to reflect the flash of a camera to allow for a flawless picture--which P.S--totally works.
I say give it a try. Venture in the drugstore--some of them have really stepped up their game!

Best drug store foundation I have found is Revlon ColorStay. I love it! It is buildable and you can choose your skin type in the right color for you.

After my foundation application i know some ppl use powders after, but is this necessary? If so, which would u guys recommend? Im blind when it comes to foundation, i got everything else down but that lol

Nikki K. You can use any finishing powder (Revlon has a really good one that I did a video review on here: http://youtu.be/0UbPQzGAYEk), or any powder, close to your skin tone and foundation color, and with a large powder brush, just run it around your face.
If you are using any cream blushes or highlighters, powder after so they can get set as well.

nikki: your profile pic shows your complexion as somewhat darker than me but I'm a NW20 if that tells you anything. I'm pale also with pink undertones. I agree that Revlon Colorstay is the shiz and I wear 'buff'.

My top drugstore foundation is the revlon colorstay like the other ladies said. When I wear it I do not have to set it and I do not have to worry about blotting except maybe once a day. The color is a better match than most colors in the highend foundations.

Ive heard so many great things about revlon colorstay so im for sure gonna give that a try first! Im pretty pale but i have blotchy skin kinda. I dont understand the whole undertone thing. I heard the undertones are basically what ur skin color looks normally (when weather and everything else doesnt take effect on ur skin) is that accurate?! Thanks Courtney, ur skin looks similar to mine! I think the profile pic looked darker cause of lighting

@Nikki K. I recently did a review on the translucent finishing powder from Revlon on YT and my blog. I love that thing mainly because it is a smooth finish and does not give any kind of scary white casts that appear in bright light and pictures.
Try it and see. It works great for me :-)

I really like Revlon ColorStay as well. The finish is like a "second skin". It feels like you have nothing on, but yet it covers all your imperfections.
A place I go to - to find the right shade for me, especially for drug store products and some online brands, since we can't try them on is Temptalia. Their Foundation Matrix is right on!!
http://www.temptalia.com/foundation-matrix <<<< I see they revamped their Matrix, and it's now more amazing!!! (just pick an undertone and color, and submit... and a list of pretty much all the foundations out there from drug store, department store, online vendors, etc. is listed).
