that's really hard to say... some can pull it off SO well and make it look classy while others make it look more manly. if you know what I mean.

I think it really depends on what the tattoo is of. I'm not saying women can't get any tattoos on their arms, but in my personal opinion, I think arm tattoos look pretty tacky/trashy. I have a few tattoos and I plan on getting a lot more, but as for the arms, I say a quarter sleeve looks good no matter what it is. Anything further doesn't look too appealing. But that's just me :P

I like tattoos, and I have a few but I can cover them up, and I like that. But that's just me, if that's something that someone likes I think it's great. If I see someone else with tattoos on their arms or what not. I love it I think it's beautiful and artistic. Recently, thanks to my new obsession interest... Lol, I have been thinking about getting a white ink tattoo on my shoulder/collarbone area.

I have an arm tat that is a good 15 years old and I have to say I wish I didn't. It's alright but I think it's nice to have your ink where it's easy to hide if you feel like it. There have been plenty of times that I wanted to wear something classy and sleevless and my tattoo has messed up the look. Besides it may be cool when you're 20 but do you think you'll still love it when you're 40+? If yes, do it up, but if not think again... it's not going anywhere.

I have 3 tattoos, from my shoulder going down my arm. I'm working on a half-sleeve. I'm in school to be a radiology tech, so I'll be wearing scrubs, which will cover it if need be. But, I think if it's something you want to do, go for it. Personally, I think tattoos are beautiful, and it should be your decision, no one else's.

If a girl wants a tattoo on her arm, then so be it! It should be a girl's right to determine what she wants on her body, and if it makes her feel beautiful, then it's good for her. I have been complimented on my arms and how having a tattoo on them would look flattering. I personally don't really want one on my arm though haha.

I know the older generation frowns at tattoos on anybody, not just women. But eventually it won't be taboo anymore. I have 3 but they can all be hidden with clothes easily. You can see the one behind my ear but it hasn't stopped me from getting clients at all.

I love them, I think that them being more for men is living in the stone age.
Saying that, there are some terrible and tacky tattoos out there.

It depends on your career path & goals, & how acceptable they are in your profession as well as what you are getting. I adore tattoos & for example think Kat Von D is stunning but obviously in her profession she can get away with having so many tattoos. I have four so far but I've thought them out in size and placement so if I choose to I can hide them or they just aren't in your face. I am headed towards a more creative profession but I like having the option of showing them. All in all though I believe self expression & body art are beautiful and everyone is entitled to do what they choose. It is good to think about what you would like in your career though just so that you don't have to hinder yourself in any sense in the future. Good luck! :)

I have an upper arm band on the right arm. I got this as my 1st tattoo and that was during my first year of college. To be honest, I see absolutely nothing wrong with women getting tattoos anywhere that pleases them BUT as many have stated, keep in mind its permanent. Don't base your decision on a "for the moment" feeling. I have had many occasions (baby showers, nice dinner, anniversary date, kid's birthday) where I've want to wear short sleeve or sleeveless and it's just totally inappropriate with my tattoo. To be honest, at 30, its just no fun anymore. I wish I could permanently remove it - like my tongue ring. Ladies...it lasts a lifetime!

I'm pretty neutral on the topic actually.
If a woman (or anyone else) wants a tattoo.. it's a choice that comes with potential consequences. If you've taken the time to think things through and are ok with those consequences, go for it.
I will say though, that I shake my head when people will complain that people are judging them based on their mods. What, the narrow minded world was suddenly going to change it's prejudice just because YOU got work done? Naivety is dangerous when it comes to these kinds of decisions.
Personally, I think it's foolish to judge someone based on tattoos.. but I can also recognize plenty of people won't feel the same.
If you want to play the game, you need to follow the rules..
..until you can make your own. ;]
