Hi guys! Hope everyone had a good Xmas!
I thought it would be fun to start a conversation about beauty or makeup products that you find a bit pointless or unnecessary.
For example, I think that the Bottom Lash Mascara by Clinique is really pretty pointless - do we really need two seperate mascaras for our top & bottom lashes? Silly if you ask me!
I look forward to hearing everyone elses suggestions & opinions. :)

I would have to say The Lash Card. It is supposed to allow you to put on your mascara with no worry of it getting on your eyelids. I don't feel like spending extra money on something that I could easily make. =)

I would have to agree with both of you. When I first heard about the lower lash mascara I thought the same. With the lash card I have seen them for the first time in IMATS. And really thought is was useless grap a tissue then toss it.

^lol! Andrea... That threw me back to Romy & Michelle's high school reunion!
The lash applicator and lash stand ELF sells with their Hollywood lashes... Worst. Gimmick. Ever.... Oh, and those lash primers that come in white. Clump-o-Rama.
Last, but not least; large multi-palettes with LOADS of shadow colors... But they're all useless because it's chalky with loads of fall out. Why produce such garbage???

I recd the lash card in one of my birchbox orders and I threw it out. Its useless. The lipgloss palettes in those 88 color palettes. I never like any of them

L'Oreal one sweep eye shadow. Complete waste! If my mom didn't think it was neat and got it for me I would have never picked it up! Definitely does NOT work in one sweep!

That's right! I hate palettes that have gloss/lipstick pans next to eyeshadows! It's so disgusting, and I next to never use them!

I think you ladies covered it all! Lash cards, lash applicators, etc. are so ridiculous.
Hate the palettes with the lip gloss in them. I just don't see a point in having a lip gloss palette anyway! It's not like I'm going to tote around this giant palette for when I need to reapply....you know...because it's lip gloss....and it needs frequent refreshers.

I just save the hanging price tags from clothes I buy and use those as a "lash card." I also hate the lipgloss pots in eyeshadow palettes. I have this palette that I LOVE and there is lipgloss in it too, and the glosses are all covered in loose powder and stuff from me using the shadows so much. Its disgusting.

You girls are cracking me up .. all of this is so true a regular mascara works just fine for bottom lashes if you careful with it and as for big clunky palettes I don't own any and I'm really not a big fan of lip products in pans cause it gets so messy

bahhhh.... ANY of those one sweep things!!! eyeshadows blushes whatever! also the sponge tip applicators that come with any drugstore shadows.. I instantly throw those in the trash! Or those mini brushes for your brows or tweezers that come with some brow kits... lol

i know a lot of you guys think the clinique bottom lash is silly but i have very few thin, short lashes and it's the only mascara that works for me! plus it's waterproof which is a great perk :) i stopped using it awhile ago though because it IS a pain to apply 2 different mascaras. it's a love/hate thing i suppose lol
i agree wtih elaineanna, those "brushes" that come with make up just make me cringe. i'd rather have nothing than those. they go in the trash the second i open my product!

I am so glad for this post. Mainly because I don't want to waste money on products that several people have deemed "not worthy to buy". I just started out myself, so I figured trying lots of stuff is the way to go, but having some starting point is great, thanks!

i think that those green concealers aren't very useful. On me they look just plain out green. Not very cute.
That stupid huge applicator from L'oreal (the One Sweep shadow crap. -.-) is horrible. It doesnt fit my eye at all!! and the worst part is that the colors are REALLY PRETTY!!!
