I do! Just to get the dead ends off! I also cut my kids hair! My girls are 14 and 9 and I think they have only ever been to a professional maybe 2 times!

usually just trim the bangs and ends and I just recently added layers to my oldests hair. I wasnt sure how to do it so we watched youtube together and found the easiest way. They are very slight layers as she didnt want to loose any length!

I swear you can learn a lot from youtube! I am going to check out videos on this topic! I cut my cousins bangs sometimes but nothing further, I would feel really bad if I messed up her hair. If the videos do make it simple to trim long hair and add layers then I may give it a shot!
