Hey,
just wondering if I could get your lovely guys opinions on something. Basically I'm getting a free product sent to me to test and I've never actually done this before just products I've purchased myself.
Just wondering if the product ended up being bad would you guys review it on your blog, because I wouldn't if it was one I purchased myself unless it was that bad, and I just want to know what you guys would do?

It depends... For me I only like to review things that I love, many gurus will agree that if you dont like something that it's not fun to blog about. Id say follow your heart Id give good and bad points to the product. Being honest to your subscribers is always important.

If you end up not liking the product at all, I would maybe contact the person who sent it to you and let them know of your issues with it and ask if they still want you to review it. They may have you send it back without doing a review, or they might let you go ahead and post your honest thoughts on it.

May I ask how you were sent the product? I keep getting emails from youtube's service email mentioning that companies are interested in my channel, but no one ever contacts me directly. I'm super confused!!!
lol If it were me, I would try it out for at least two weeks depending on what it is and review it anyway. I'm a sucker for honesty D:

I had an email directly which is posted on my blog, and they have sent the product to my home address, this is the first direct product I've been asked to review.
Thanks :)

I would say if it's a product that nobody knows about, then don't do a bad review on it. The company was nice enough to reach out to you so you don't want to spit in their face and on top of that, it's not likely that your subscribers will ever find out about that product anyways...if that makes any sense. Now if it was like one of Maybelline's newest mascaras or something like that and you tried it out and didn't like it, i would say go ahead and do the review on it because that's something that could save a lot of people money. But yeah, it just doesnt make sense to do a bad review on a product nobody knows about anyways, so neither your subscribers or the company your working with is benefiting from the review.
Hope that makes sense! :)

OR like Jewelmint, everybody and their mama was doing reviews on them a while ago...so say they reached out to you wanting you to review their jewelry and you ended up not liking their company or something, or like the quality of the jewlery was horrible and turned your skin green, etc that would make sense to do a bad review on because it would save a lot of people money because more people know about that company and are more likely to buy from them.
Haha, again....hope you understand what im trying to say. :)

If it was bad Id still post it on my blog ppl really want to know what works and what doesnt. They are going to go out and spend money on this, also the company might like to know how you really feel about it. No body wants to sell a crap product maybe if you let them know they could fix the problems best product reviews are the honest ones
