I have long dark brown/black hair.. and it's straight.. basically i'm bored with it.. I use volumizers, sometimes i tease it, put little bows.. but i still feel like its so boring.. Any ideas for hairstyles, cuts, anything?? keep in mind my style is sometimes preppy, girly, classic.. So nothin too crazy

Add layers! Layers can do amazing things to your hair! Also add a few highlights. It creates movement in the hair and updates a style instantly.

thanx!(: i'm definitely considering layers...but maybe shorter ones? I'm not sure yet, I still want it to be manageable because i'm in cheer, and for games we're required to wear our hair up in ponytails :( I have one layer in my hair but it's soo boring. There's no such thing as one or two layers :) You either have them or you don't. When you go to get your hair cut just let them know that you need to be able to still make a pony tail. If they cut the layers at about a 45 or close to 90 degree angle it should be noticable and still long enough. Also when they cut the bangs to blend them have it no shorter than to your chin and you should still be able to get it into a pony tail. This will give you the cut that Kim Kardashian has. Use a big barrel curling iron and you're good to go!

I recently cut bangs... and what a difference it makes in how you look! I can still braid them over my forehead if I don't feel like styling them but it's been a fun change from plain old long hair. Best part is, they're already growing out- and just in time- because I'm getting sick of them! lol

i have one layer in my hair too and i'm really bored of it. it gives nice texture at the ends but that's about it, so i feel your pain! i would be careful with layers though because if you go too short wtih your top layer, you might not be able to get it up into a ponytail for cheers. i like to look for pictures online with a general idea of what i want and then just kind of wing it at the salon :)
