I tend to wear contacts most of the time. Because of this my eyes either water, or are too dry and I have to apply drops through the day. My problem is, I can't get any eyeliner to stay on my waterline. I've tried pencils, I've tried gel liners, I've tried setting both with powder. But within a couple of hours I get this crusty black gunky stuff in the inner and outer corners of my waterline. Mostly near my tear duct. It looks so nasty and when I remove it, I end up messing up my eye make up a bit. It's such a drag, but I don't know how to fix the problem. Boo :( Any ideas? Are there any particular brands that might be good for this problem? I've tried a million different pencils from avon, to covergirl, to maybelline gel liners, Im considering trying the Urban Decay 24/7 liners..but I don't want to shell out that kind of money if I may end up with the same problem.

Holy Grail liner is Milani's Liquif'eye pencil in black. It's super black, creamy, long lasting, and around 6 dollars. To avoid liner from gunking up in the inner corner don't line to far into the inner corner. Stop a bit before. Also use a primer under your eyes to keep the liner from smudging and using a fluffy brush apply some face powder under your eyeliner and in the inner corner to act as a barrier and to keep the liner from traveling. If it reoccurs you may want to carry q-tips with you to avoid messing up the rest of your makeup.

I'll have to try the Milani eye pencil. I've heard good things about the brand. I just need to find a store around here that sells it. My walmart doesn't but maybe the drugstores do. Thanks for the tops. I usually od use a primer under my eyes as well, but I don't usually put any face powder that close to my eyes, I'll definitely give that a try too. And yes, q-tips are my best friend sometimes..lol.

Haha check Target or Rite Aid. CVS usually charges too much. Target has the lowest price usually.

My nearest target is like 45 minutes away (lame!) so with what I would pay in gas to get there it would be easier just to check CVS or Rite Aid (both we have here in town). Next time I have some cash and time, I'll check those two places out. Have you tried other Milani products? Are they just as good?

Love Milani! I find it at KMart and CVS here locally, KMart being cheaper--and with their red card I get 10% back so I try to always buy there. They also carry ELF, which is hard to find around here...
I don't wear contacts, but I have this same issue. EVERYTHING runs on me, even when I use the tricks Alexis (love you, girl!) listed above. This is ridiculous, but here is what I have to do in order to wear waterline eyeliner:
1. Maybelline Gel Liner, let dry
2. Revlon Grow Luscious or Milani pencil on top, let dry
3. Dab MAC Carbon on top
Seriously. Ugh! I sweat (glow lol) all day since I have a physical job, so most people don't have to go to these lengths haha

yes nothing really stays on my skin that well. I finally splurged and bought some Urban Decay products and it has helped a lot. The primer potion is like magic, my eye makeup lasts ALL day, and between the razor sharp finishing powder and the setting spray, my face makeup lasts all day, the biggest problems I seem to have is my waterline eyeliner (top and lower lashes, lasts fine) and lipstick...grr..if I could work out those 2 issues, I'd be set! I'm definitely gonna try out some Milani (our nearest K-mart is about 30 mins away..so I really think I'm gonna be stuck with CVS or Rite Aid). But I'm gonna have a look around at their products and perhaps splurge out of my next paycheck..haha.

What about carrying q-tips?
