a model release form is ALWAYS necessary - especially if you plan on using the photos in ANY way with your photo credit in public view. there are many generic ones online for you to use so make use of them! Great for situations that may need litigation in the future such as:

You decide to sell the image as a stock photo and your model has an issue with her photo being sold off to represent some brand/company she has issue with... or your model decides to edit your photos and sell them without giving you any credit. Make sure your rights are represented on the model release along with the photographer's and model's to make sure all usage rules are clearly outlined.  =D

Okay! Thanks so much. I was viewing around on the interweb and some people said no.. because it's not paid. Then some people said yes..because it is free. I trust what your telling me though. hah .
Thanks !!

Always make them sign a release form. You don't want them suing you for breaking out their face, when it wasn't even your fault. Make sure you let the models know you're sanitary and always clean your brushes in front of them.

ESPECIALLY if you're not being paid for the shoot itself, if the photos end up being sold for profit, you'll be able to argue your case for it if somehow it miraculously becomes the inspiration photo for some magazine article or something hypothetical like that.  =D
